    Service center apparently did repairs and installed a different OEM version on Muhil's machine. Hard to tell why including all repairs. While the model series may be similar, the exact model number may not.

    @JackE after the service center installed the recovery image laptop was working fine but only after that I started having the issue, close to updating one of the intel graphics drivers via windows optional updates , that was the change that I did and after that gone discrete gpu is not going to idle state.

    Recently I also noticed the that there is some EEEEEE sound coming from the back of the laptop in between the two fans , this sound comes when the fans or of and the laptop is in sleep mode or in normal usage of laptop.

    Yes. I understood this Muhil. Thus the service center obviously has this factory mc A fee version, not the n or ton version that you originally had before they worked on your machine.

    While we might not know all the reasons for this version change, it seems like you should again make a request to try to get the m ca fee USB media that service center used to install it on your machine.

    Since this would be an out-of-warranty request, they might be expected to charge a nominal fee to fulfill this request.

    @JackE yep and i dont know if they will even have the norton version I ll try i think the os in not the issue i think the issue is in optimus technology or smth

  • Does the problem persist after trying to update the bios and drivers?

    @Commodore_1995# nah the problem started first and after that tried to upddate to fix the issue but continued to be same , even tried rollback to acer drivers in the support page still the same

    and check this out this is what pretty mutch happened to me I installed a intel graphics driver and thats it the hardware is over

    Get whatever fresh factory version that they have. Then make sure System Protection is turned on.

    @Commodore_1995# i think the issue started after updating intel graphics driver from the windows optional updates I dont know for sure but this was the only update I did trying to fix the black screen issue that I was having before, u can lookup my previous posts

    Yes, I know you keep saying a clean generic Microsoft Windows version install gives the same issue.

    But you never tried to get a fresh OEM Acer factory Windows version install and turn on System Protection.

    We have been going over and over this generic vs OEM version again and again for over a month. Yet a FRESH OEM version from the service center —- whichever mc af ee or n or ton version that they have —- has never been tried by you with System Protection turned on!!!

  • I would try to reinstall Windows, pressing alt+f10 before the Acer logo, to see if it solves the problem.

    He already wiped out ALL the partitions installed by the service center.

    That's why it's a Windows, youtube and software problem. Nothing seemed to be wrong with your hardware at the time you first got it back from the service center. It's messed up now from all the changes and updates you tried to make since first getting the machine back from the service center.

    As mentioned several time before, you need to get the factory recovery installation USB media that the service center used when you first got the machine back from them. Then immediately enable System Protection after you install Windows with THEIR recovery media, not the recovery media that you tried to make.

  • It is possible to purchase erecovery media on the Acer website, if the user lives in the United States.
