Hi guys,

did you experience issue (it happened to me only 2 times, laptop is 2 months old) that touchpad get completely stuck pressed down mechanically and cannot go up? When it happen, I cannot press it on both sides (bottom left & right sides) and it looks like something is holding whole touchpad surface. Then, after few seconds it pop up to it's normal position and everything OK… looks like there's very small space between touchpad surface and bottom chassis….like it should be mounted quarter of milimeter "up" (closer to keyboard).

Also - when I'm very lightly tapping on touchpad, I hear like vibration of whole touchpad

If your Swift Go SFG14-63 is still under warranty send the laptop back to Acer Tech Support and get them to change the touchpad for a new one, as your touchpad is defective and its covered under warranty.

If your SFG-14-63 is out of warranty then you need to replace the touchpad with one of the models below. Good luck and hope this has helped you out.

Yep. The question is if they do the repair when touchpad 'fix itself" after few seconds, or 1 minute...when I give them fully functional laptop, I don't think they'll replace it, or fix it by slightly moving it's position againts chassis :-( Maybe yes, maybe it's known issue for them...but here on the forum no one complained HW issue like this...everything was SW/config related

If your cursor will not move or your touchpad is not working at all:-

    1. Remove connected devices - Remove all devices that are connected to the system except for the power cord. This includes external keyboard, mouse, flash drives, hard drives and other peripherals.
    2. Enable/disable your touchpad - Many systems allow you to turn the touchpad On or Off by pressing a key combination. On most models it is FN + F7 or FN + F2, but could also be a different function key. The touchpad function key will be labeled with one of the images below. disable touchpad icons.png
    3. Restart your computer - Restarting your system may help your touchpad start responding again.
    4. Reset BIOS or UEFI to default settings - Some systems have touchpad settings in the BIOS/UEFI.
    5. Reinstall touchpad drivers - Missing or incorrect drivers may cause your touchpad to not work properly. You can try downloading and installing the latest driver from our Acer Drivers and Manuals page. You may need to attach an external mouse to complete this process.
    6. Restore Windows- Newer versions of Windows allow you to restore your operating system without losing your personal data. Make sure you select the option to Keep my files.

If you can move your cursor but are having problems with cursor speed, erratic behavior or tapping and clicking:

    1. Adjust touchpad sensitivity - If your cursor is moving too fast or too slow, you can try changing your touchpad sensitivity.
    2. Disable tap to click - Accidentally making contact with the touchpad when typing can cause the cursor to jump around or leave the window.

Axxo - this issue is purely HW related. Touchpad stays pressed down and will not move back. Today I applied warranty, it happened 2 times per 29 days
