Update: I replaced the original CPU with an Intel Core I7-3630QM CPU, and added a 8GB SODIMM DD3 1600Mhz RAM stick, bringing the total to 12GB. The PC has improved a lot in performance, but I wonder if it would be possible to upgrade to an Intel I7-3940XM CPU with a TDP of 55W versus the 35W of the original CPU. The CPU I have installed now already has a TDP of 45W.

You could physically put the CPU in, but it will end up running hot most of the time. Have you already replaced the HDD with a SSD? That will provide a bigger performance boost than any CPU upgrade…

Yes... The first thing I did a while ago was to replace the mechanical HDD with an SSD. However, by switching from i5-3230M to I7-3630QM, the performance improved a lot, also thanks to the 4GB of RAM more (total 12GB). At the moment the CPU is already 10W higher than the original CPU (45W versus the 35W of the original CPU) and I don't see any anomalies, the CPU works at a temperature of 46-52°.
