Touchpad Freezing Issue on Acer Swift SF14-73

I am experiencing an issue with my Acer Swift SF14-73 laptop. My touchpad works perfectly fine for every task and in all applications, except when I browse YouTube using Chrome or Microsoft Edge. While on YouTube, the touchpad cursor freezes. To temporarily resolve the issue, I need to press F10 twice (to lock and unlock the touchpad).

This problem occurs consistently only when using YouTube and interrupts usability.

I have already tried the following steps without success:

Confirmed the touchpad driver is updated to the current version.
Updated both browsers and Windows to the latest versions.
Scanned for malware using Windows Security.

Please advise on further steps to resolve this issue or if any diagnostics are required.

Hi, check in BIOS if touchpad is set to 12C HID and save changes (F10), Uninstall any Touchpad drivers you see in Device manager also the 12C HID device in Human Interface Devices and just reboot, Windows will install MS Precision drivers for Touchpad. I have the Swift X SFX14-51G-7003 2023 laptop that had similar TP issues after I uninstalled the AcerSense app., so I recommend updating all Acer apps too.

You mean you have the Acer Swift SFG14-73 as there is no such model as the Swift SF14-73, anyway, it must be an issue specifically with your Swift laptop and the you tube site web connection, see this guide Laptop Touchpad Freezing! -DIY Repair - YouTube, if not change the touchpad as it could be faulty. There are two different touchpad hardware designs used on the SFG14-73(T) series, a Synaptics and a PixArt. Which do you have, and which driver is installed for it?

If your cursor will not move or your touchpad is not working at all:

Remove connected devices - Remove all devices that are connected to the system except for the power cord. This includes external keyboard, mouse, flash drives, hard drives and other peripherals.
Enable/disable your touchpad - Many systems allow you to turn the touchpad On or Off by pressing a key combination. On most models it is FN + F7 or FN + F2, but could also be a different function key. The touchpad function key will be labeled with one of the images below.
Restart your computer - Restarting your system may help your touchpad start responding again.
Reset BIOS or UEFI to default settings - Some systems have touchpad settings in the BIOS/UEFI.
Reinstall touchpad drivers - Missing or incorrect drivers may cause your touchpad to not work properly. You can try downloading and installing the latest driver from our Acer Drivers and Manuals page. You may need to attach an external mouse to complete this process.
Restore Windows- Newer versions of Windows allow you to restore your operating system without losing your personal data. Make sure you select the option to Keep my files.

If you can move your cursor but are having problems with cursor speed, erratic behavior or tapping and clicking:

Adjust touchpad sensitivity - If your cursor is moving too fast or too slow, you can try changing your touchpad sensitivity.
Disable tap to click - Accidentally making contact with the touchpad when typing can cause the cursor to jump around or leave the window.

I just started experiencing the same today! I speculate it has to do with drivers, as I notice also the following:

When watching YouTube videos, the integrated pad media controls work normally, while the touchpad does not react to finger movements or clicks.
The touchpad works as intended if I switch windows/tabs/screen focus. For example, when the mouse pad is "stuck" while watching YouTube, if I press the start button and the start menu opens up, the touchpad works normally. However, if I return to YouTube, it gets stuck again.
