To see if your current Windows installation is at fault or not.

Not that. I meant check if your NVidia GPU is working now or not in clean installed Windows.

No it's not working. Tried nvidia driver from acer's page, clean installed latest drivers from nvidia website, tried driver from windows update.

And I have been doing this from last 4 weeks, with different versions of windows 10, and windows 11 and even ubuntu.

And Acer's live support is of no use.

    Hey JackE, no luck.

Can I send my laptop to acer's repair center in Malaysia? It was originally purchased in US and a reseller sold it to me in my country as we don't have repair center here, I have to send it all the way to Malasia just to get it repaired, not sure how much will it cost and whether it be worth all the hassle.

    >>>Hey Jack, same result, the window boots up normally.>>>>>>And I have been doing this from last 4 weeks, with different versions of windows 10, and windows 11 and even ubuntu. And Acer's live support is of no use.>>>>

Aye-yi-aye! Before you did all this stuff, did you FIRST set and save a supervisor password in the BIOS menu? Then SECOND, did you re-enter the BIOS with the supervisor password to disable secure boot and enable the D2D factory reset boot option? Then THIRD, did you then try the AcerCareCenter or ALT+F10 cold boot factory reset?

If not, I suspect the hidden factory reset partition is no longer accessible. Then the only way to get the factory version is to see if Acer's live or chatline support can somehow get you copy of the factory installation version on a USB stick. The factory installation USB media is usually only available online in the US and Canada. So not quite sure if Acer service centers in other countries or region can or will even try to get it for you. You'll just have to ask.

If purchased in the US, it might be possible to get the factory installation USB stick if you can call Acer US support at 1-800-910-2237 from your location or use the chatline at

    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/home

if the serial number id (SNID) is still under valid warranty.

You could also try contacting either the Malaysia service center or one of the Asia Pacific centers at this link to see if they can get the original installation media for you.

I read on some thread that rtx 20 series had some factory defacted microns that goes bad overtime, specifically those that were manufactured before 2019. I am not sure if that's the case.

It would be helpful if you can find the link to this claim.

It was my own own post on reddit that's when I got the reply and tried searching about it. A single search lead to many other.

That seems to apply to the PCIe card, not the mobile chip. The dedicated vRAM isn't the same.

I am a computer motherboard repair specialist.

Regarding this, a customer's laptop broke down after the update. i.e. error 43. But the strange thing here is why would the vram be corrupted after the update? I changed GPU. I tested VRAMs with MATS/MODS. There was an A0 bank error and my A0 vram was replaced. but the result still continues. In my opinion, the original VBIOS was corrupted after the update.

Hi, I did the same, tried mats/mods and the report suggested I had corrupted the A0 bank, replaced it, laptop recognized gpu, and it worked fine until I tried to run Valley to stress test the gpu and it failed again.

NWR suggested getting the core reballed as I have been watching his videos for quite a while now and he does get cards with the same issue where reball fixes the memory bank issue.

Though I am not a technician and still waiting on parts and courage to attempt to reball the core. It will be really helpful if you are an expert and can try reball the core or if you manage to get VBIOS replaced and it fixes the issue then please let me know of the results.

    Thanks
