My suggestion is to define your WiFi card and then install and adjust settings. It will work from bootup if the settings are correct.

Hi First reselling/selling Windows 7 licences is quite common and may very well work for you. How/Where do you get a copy of Windows 7 to install? You need a money back guarantee because it is quite likely that unless your laptop is quite old there will NO drivers in Windows 7 for most of your hardware. So your WiFi wont…

Hi The BIOS is AMI I think and a zip file containing multiple files. 2015/11/04 Version: P11.B4 Vendor: Acer Size: 3.3 MB it has explanation files in the appendix for a flash install. BIOS_Acer_P11.B4_A_A.zip/Appendix/EFI%20Flash.pdf NB: Secure Boot is usually needed to install and Run Windows, you may have a system…

Hi Name / Make of the BIOS like Phoenix or AMI or Award or ...... Some BIOS makers provide a DOS Disk based method, others only Windows based. Look at Macrium Reflect, IF the old HDD will mount and run ONCE attached to your PC and you can attach the NEW then a clone / copy should be possible. There is a "free" version and…
-
Hi You should have recovery disks created from the previous HDD. You could try cloning with Macrium or clonezilla. But please give a little more detail on the condition of the old HDD and the machine it came from.

Hi I can only see that the default gateway is 192.168.1.254 as is the DNS and DHCP servers. I would expect that the DNS would be an external number. ping to 8.8.8.8 and even temporarily set your DNS to 8.8.8.8 to try and get an external connection.

Hi Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Please copy and paste or screen shot the ipconfig -all with the WiFI part.

Hi "We recommend checking Acer Support for information (user manual, FAQs, etc.)." "So here's my problem," and it is a lack of detail. Make and Model would be good, OS in use and "after how many minutes" doing what kind of thing? Then maybe something concrete could be offered.
-
Hi Your explanation is a little off, so it is difficult to ascertain the problem. IF you "connected to my home WiFi" and could not access the internet it suggests a firewall or gateway problem. Discount firewall as ethernet leaves the machine. So the next step is to accept the WiFi card works, as it shows in Device manager…

Hi "We recommend checking Acer Support for information (user manual, FAQs, etc.)." Maybe a known problem, and someone else has a solution, like openSuse.

Hi "We recommend checking Acer Support for information (user manual, FAQs, etc.)." Failing that the possibility of a loose connection.
-
Hi No not really, the best advice seems to be "We recommend checking Acer Support for information (user manual, FAQs, etc.)." Preface the commands with sudo To install you could use apt and do an update and then a dist-upgrade in the faint hope of something actually picking up the hardware. You can do a vague apt install…

Hi For shut down problems I ensure that all my boxes are empty. And I have made a desktop shortcut to shutdown, just in case. You can use the command line. C:\WINDOWS\system32>shutdown /i Display the graphical user interface (GUI) /f Force running applications to close without forewarning users. and lots more. Hope this…

Hi I would look to splice it inline from the PSU, because if it is a problem you could lose the MoBo to a damaged track. Fused as best as possible.

Hi Well I dont want to frighten you but the Acer website ones are certainly valid for Vista.... [AddRegKeys] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,SOFTWARE\ATHEROS\VistaAddOn,EnableLEWait,1,REG_DWORD HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,SOFTWARE\Atheros\VistaAddOn,A2DPSrcS3Delay,1000,REG_DWORD…

Hi Install Piriform Speccy, look at the spec of what is installed. Go to somewhere like Crucial and have their checker give you an opinion. Then look for the most suitable, reputable, supplier. Some times it is better to have stable matching ram sticks than to push the clock speed.

A picture paints a thousand words.
