no problem in finding a replacement part... AR5B97 T77H167.07. Very plentiful on ebay as they are used in many machines. NI.23600.072 i believe is the acer part number... not sure, but i think it is.

Just installed win10 on my acer aspire 5742 this morning. Perefect, no problems or conflicts with hardware.

Repeating the same as the previous post, check and see if the RAM is PC3 1333Mhz. On the other hand, try cleaning (with a pencil eraser) the contact points and reseating the modules. If you can get to the BIOS, there is a built in mem test. If not, use third party mem test software on a cd. Hopefully you can boot to the…
