By any chance did you try flashing Memtest on another usb device?

Sadly I had to travel overseas for a couple of years so I destroyed the box that came with it , but since it doesnt has anything to do with the function of the machine itself I will just keep it like that. Just wanted to make sure this was not part of the design :-). Thank you.
