¿CÓMO PUEDO ACTUALIZAR MI ACER ASPIRE 5 A515-51G-5764?

Buenos días comunidad tengo un Aspire 5, que originalmente vino con un HDD 1TB (TOSHIBA) y una memoria RAM 2GB (ADATA), es decir, sin contar los 4GB que viene soldada a la placa base.
Últimamente mi HDD con solo 2300 horas de uso, aparece en riesgo en CrystalDisk y genera graves problemas de rendimiento. Deseo saber si puedo utilizar 2 unidades SSDs, uno SATA para reemplazar el HDD que está fallando y el otro M.2 para añadirle, y que especificaciones necesitan para cada puerto y si hay algún fabricante recomendado o un limite de capacidad?
También estoy interesado en aumentar la memoria RAM me preguntaba si se le puede poner una memoría de 16 GB o menos, y que referencias necesita para que se adapte, también me gustaría saber si hay alguna marca sugerida por el fabricante, o con la que otras personas con este Acer hallan tenido éxito.

I forgot to attach it in the end, darnit haha, but it doesn't matter, the data you showed is enough. The "risk" is a very low risk if you ask me.

Here's the thing, hard drives have more sectors (memory) than they claim the have. If one of them fails it is remapped to the spare area, but it is unknown how many spare sectors there are... so over time if the situation gets worse it is worthy to get another disk.

You for example, just have 1 reallocated sector, just 1! The failing drive I posted above has 251 and I still use it for testing! Of course, nothing of valor ever gets there anymore, but otherwise I still keep it on active duty.

There are various reasons for damaged sectors, from bumps to just old age, looking at the rest of the SMART data I'd say you have nothing to worry about, but I'd still like to run some tests on that disk. Ideally we'd use Hard Disk Sentinel for that, but the tests I wanted to try aren't part of the free trial, so we'll use GSmartControl instead and rely on the disks' internal ones (this time it is attached to the post).

Run the extended test, it will take some hours because it goes through all of the surface of the disk so it's better if you just run it once you go to bed. Leave the laptop on and make sure it doesn't turn off due to inactivity, then do as in the picture:

See if you have any more relocation events, or relocated sectors afterwords and if the tests completes perfectly, without errors, and you have no new damaged sectors you can continue on as usual.

Básicamente, los discos duros tiene más sectores (memoria) de los que dicen tener. Si uno de ellos se daña es reemplazado por uno de los del área de intercambio, pero nunca se sabe cuántos hay de repuesto por así decirlo... así que si según pasa el tiempo se vuelve peor la situación sí que sería mejor comprar otro disco.

Por ejemplo, el tuyo solamente tiene 1 sector dañado, ¡1! ¡El que te mostré arriba tiene 251 y aún lo estoy usando para pruebas! Claro que nada de valor va a parar a él, como copias de seguridad y demás, pero sigue en funcionamiento.

Hay varios motivos por los que se pueden dañar sectores, golpes por ejemplo mientras está en funcionamiento o simplemente que se hacen viejos, pero viendo los datos SMART que has mostrado yo diría que no tienes nada de lo que preocuparte (aún así me gustaría que pasases un test).

Idealmente usaríamos Hard Disk Sentinel para ello, pero como la parte de los tests no está dentro de la versión de prueba usaremos GSmartControl que esta vez sí que está adjunto.

Elije el test extendido, que es el que recorre toda la superficie del disco y tardará lo suyo, así que quizás sea mejor que lo dejes una noche solo y se haga mientras duermes (asegúrate de que el PC no se apague por inactividad durante ese tiempo). Haz como en la foto de arriba.

Si después de ello el test termina bien y no hay más problemas o sectores reubicados, perfecto, yo seguiría como si nada. Si por el contrario apareciesen bastantes más sectores entonces me plantearía cambiar ese disco por otro.

Oh that disk is perfectly usable, with just one sector remapped there isn't much to be concerned about. When after the test nothing has changed regarding the remapped sectors, it's all good.

If you wanted to use an SSD (M.2 or otherwise, there are 2.5'' SATA SSDs as well you could use if there were no M.2 slot in your machine) you'd notice a big improvement. Mechanical hard drives are usually the slowest thing on the memory chain and the bottleneck of the system for the tasks you mention.

And yes, of course you could use that disk to be a data only disk, Windows would be installed in the other one and you could leave that one for data storage.

Si quisieras usar un SSD (M.2 u otro factor de forma, hay discos SSD SATA de 2.5'' también por si no tuvieses zócalos M.2 en tu equipo) notarías una gran mejora. Los discos duros mecánicos son generalmente lo más lento en la cadena de memoria y el cuello de botella para las tareas que mencionas.

Y sí, claro que podrías usar ese disco como disco de datos únicamente, Windows estaría instalado en el otro y ese podrías dejarlo solo para almacenaje.

Y en el M.2 yo diría que está cableado por PCIe también (así que soportaría discos NVMe), pero creo que solo tiene 2 canales asignados a él. No me hagas mucho caso de todos modos, busca referencias online que seguro que alguien ya intentó poner un NVMe en ese modelo. En cuanto a discos SATA SSD para reemplazar el mecánico que está fallando, ahí no hay ningún problema, la capacidad es problema del controlador del propio disco y no del sistema así que puedes poner cuanto quieras.

Sobre el HDD la verdad también me sorprendió mucho, yo lo he cuidado en extremo, nunca sacudo el laptop, ni lo pongo en las piernas, ni lo traslado encendido, ni se somete a vibraciones, ni si quiera lo muevo de mi casa y siempre le mantengo la base refrigerante. GSmartControl reports the same, there's just 1 sector that has been reallocated and it happened one. That's the SMART #5 and #196 there, because there could be several sectors found at the same time if an entire area was damaged (e.g. 5 sectors reallocated but just 1 reallocation event).

Run the test whenever you can and let's see if something changes, because it forces the disk to through all of its surface if there were any week or damaged sectors those numbers would increase; if it's all good the only difference could be in the rest of the attributes, like the time it has been powered on or the number of times the heads have been loaded/unloaded.

Hola desde que mandé el mensaje anterior estuve realizando el test completo, no se que datos arroja este test pero solo varía una cosa. Quisiera saber que me aconsejas, este disco no servirá más para almacenar cosas importantes o sabes si es reparable?
Y tengo otra pregunta, si le instalo a mi laptop un SSD M.2 y lo utilizo para el sistema y programas, podría usar el HDD solo para almacenamiento sin mayores problemas?
