  • So, I've resolved my problem which was that I'd push the power button, the blue disk light would flick at intervals, the charging light would be red, the screen would be black and it would weakly flicker grey at intervals. I tried to boot up with a startup USB, tried to get to the BIOS, tried various recommended key…
  • I am having the same problem. Did you manage to resolve it, Strbor45, or can anyone help?
  • Dear MaClane and Jack22 Many, many thanks for your help. I now understand that I was worrying unnecessarily, and this was really a result of my lack of knowledge about memory. I will now buy the memory with confidence. Vivsim
  • Thank you again, McClane. Just as I think I've grasped the mysteries of RAM, I lose my confidence completely and realise I simply don't understand. The part numbers on the charts don't match my memory. Here's a picture of one of my 4gb modules. Would you have access to a compatibility chart that includes this? I would like…
  • Hi MaClane, Thank you very much. Unfortunately, I can't read the two small compatibility tables. Tried magnifying them but they just get more fuzzy. Would you please let me know where I can access these tables as they seem to be exactly what I need if they do, indeed, relate to the Aspire E5-575T. I was just about to order…
  • Thanks, Jack. I'll take your advice but I'm still wondering why no memory supplier, apart from Crucial, indicates that their memory is compatible with the Acer Aspire E5-575T. Even the manufacturer (Kingston) of the original memory referred me to Acer. I'm very disappointed that Acer doesn't make the memory requirements…
  • Waiting for the last update to finish. If (when) it fails, I'll try the link you suggest. Thanks so much for holding my hand. I'll let you know what happens later (perhaps tomorrow).
  • Just did the disk clean and am running the windows update (with little hope). Last week, I crawled through everything in Device Manager, and got the latest drivers from the Acer site. I then went to Intel and downloaded and installed all the Intel drivers that were later than I had. My Intel 8 Series Chipset Family SAFA…
  • BIOS is the latest offered for my Aspire V3-772G 9820 notebook on the Acer site. It's InsydeH20 V1.15 dated 7 Mar 2014. Pretty old, but I'm reluctant to get an update from anywhere else as I understand that it's not possible to back out if things go wrong. I didn't do a disk cleanup but I will give it a try, although, as I…
  • Thanks, egydiocoelho. I did all the backup, etc., prep work before running the Windows update. I then found all of the video driver versions at Acer and Intel and, working from the latest back to my current drivers, I repeated the Windows Update, which failed in exactly the same way every time. Searching the internet, I…
  • Sorry, I'm having a bad day, and I incorrectly identified my notebook. It's not a V3-522G. It's a V3-772G. I've reposted with the correct title.
  • I forgot to say that the error code from the failed automatic 1803 update was 0X8007001f; the code from the failed Windows Update Assistant 1809 was 0X8024001e. Also, my display adapters are: Intel HD Graphics 4600 with driver 10.18.15.4256 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M with driver 22.21.13.8205.
  • I have a new Acer Liquid Zest Plus. My calendar and contacts are on Outlook.com. I've been able to sync them by installing Outlook on the Acer. While this solves one problem (i.e. making contacts available in the e-mail app), it doesn't solve the more annoying one, which is having the contacts readily available when I want…
  • I have an Acer Aspire V3-772G notebook. I have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Almost every day, I get a message saying something like: ‘display driver has stopped working and has been restarted - Intel HD Graphics Driver’. I don’t have the exact wording because the message disappears very quickly. I tried…
