  • Tried diskpart and the space before and after the operation remain identical at 59.63gb. I will contact Kingston and see if they have a solution.
  • It was originally partioned as RAID 0. It has been a long time since I've used diskpart. I'd have to be very cautious. I'll look into RUFUS. The SSD is made by Kingston as I recall. If so, I will contact them about the issue and how to resolve it.
  • OK. Diskmgmt.msc, Gparted and my partition software all say the same thing. The original SSD is now entirely unallocated and has 59.63gb of space. I think I may have goofed in wiping the drive after I swapped it for the 1tb SSD. So, I'm back to my original question: How can I recover access to the entire 128gb of space? I…
  • Thanks.
  • Don't know. Where will I find diskmgmt.msc? Thanks.
  • The ssd is enclosed in an external usb enclosure. Looking at the properties all that is visible is about 64gb (actually a little less). In the partition software I have that also is all that is shown. I will try your suggestion and let you know. Thanks.
  • I don't have this Acer model, but there is a high possibility that it is the flash drive that is faulty and not the computer or the software. I've run into this problem with some flash drives -- particularly those from China that are real cheap, but also once or twice from reputable manufacturers like Sandisk.
  • Ah, thanks. I didn't notice the attached picture. Using that picture as a reference, tge danaged screws are 1) lower left corner (blue circle) ancd 2) upper right corner (red circle). Thanks again for the help.
  • I'm afraid don't have the picture. Can you share it? Thanks.
  • The screws on the bottom of my Aspire S7-392 do not have blue or red circles. They are aluminum or silver colored. So, what do these colored circles mean or to what do they refer and where do they go? Are these for my model Aspire? Where can I get them? Thanks.
  • The screws are not missing but the heads have been stripped. That is the hexogonal shaped indent in the center of the screw heads have the corners so rounded by too much force the hex wrench cannot get a grip in order to loosen - or tighten - the screws, which means they cannot be removed without special tools and thus the…
  • Sorry for the typos.
  • Yes. I installed them all. I decided, however, not to worry about it because I use the hdmi port to connect to my monitor, which is also my TV. So.... I've already upgraded to Win 10 as of today and, thus far, have no hardware problems. Thanks for your help.
  • OK. I've updated the BIOS and all drivers, but am still getting the VGA driver error when I try to install it. The error message says "This computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the software". The ReadMe file gives no info that sheds light on the issue. My system has an Intel Core i5 HD processor, 8GB RAM and…
  • Thanks. When searching for the updates, I used my machine's serial number. Therefore, I assumed what was listed was for my system. BTW -- the second download of the WiFi driver worked.
  • All the files say BIOS, but only one also has "BIOS" in both the first and second columns. I'm not on my system at the moment, but as I recall (and I could be misremembering) all the files have the same date. If I'm correct, which file/files do I want? Thanks.
  • Thanks. With respect to the WiFi driver, We're on the same page -- I've downliaded another copy, but haven't gotteb any further yet. Didn't think about what you mention regarding BIOS and the VGA driver. This raises two more qusstions: 1. I've forgotten how to update the BIOS -- do you have a link for instructions that you…
  • Thanks. What I was concerned about was that I seem to recall reading a post as part of this topic that said something about having to disconnect and remove the battery to get at the ssd. I didn't want to screw things up.
  • Okay, so now we know that the mSATA is replaceable. But itvwould be very helpful if someone would provide step by step detailed instructions on how to do this for those of us who are new to the Aspire. Thanks.
