  • What do u mean? Uc browser can pinch zoom ok. Chrome doesnt, coz it doesnt havr a native metro app, as i said.
  • Lol u guys are talking bout 3 different OS es, I am sure when chrome is available as its native metro app, it would do the trick. Try the uc browser at the ms store.
  • Hi padgett, Since the new fw, the dock dont charge the tablet, it only provides power. Yes, its localize on the battery compartment, around the bottom left, as I said the one that heats up is the dock's battery. I already tried twice and the same issue happens again thats why I want to know about the others. As I recall,…
  • @gentong, That is correct, the dvd only came with the w510 package. I know this because i purchased both w510 and w511 for my mum and myself.
  • @padgett, I have asked about it in my country and their answer "no dvd in the package of w511" and when i told them i got it on my w510 package they said again "no dvd, its on the partition of w511, you can recover using the recovery management application" and i thought its logical because my w510 only have 32 gb and my…
  • There are no recovery dvd for acer w511 mate, because it already has the recovery management application (the recovery is already saved in a partition instead of dvd). The dvd only came in with acet w510 32 gb.
  • Great that u can installed it mate, you do know its buggy right? Which version did u installed? https://01.org/android-ia/downloads Try to restart again with android
  • Which driver did u update mate? Is it this one: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Wireless%20LAN/Wireless%20LAN_Broadcom_5.93.97.113_W8x86_A.zip?acerid=635044398417245740&Step1=TABLET&Step2=ICONIA%20W&Step3=W510&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6
  • Disable your uefi security policy on yout boot menu, assign an administrator password and disable the security check. Dual boot android ia on w700 has been done successfully.
  • @Acer-Blayn, Before the firmware update, when the tablet battery is 50% and dock battery 100%, when docked, the tablet will be charged so it will be 100% and dock battery decrease down to 0% if the system is not in use, hence the "battery drain issue of the dock". I thought after the firmware update, this should have…
  • Second to rouge1, I also have a w510 and already compared the bing maps, clearly the w510 is using the wifi location service because its way off my location but my w511 gave me a correct location. Its also tracking me when i move unlike the w510.
  • @padgett, what do u mean real gps? My w511 is using gnss, which is basically a gps mate. gps is an exclusive to us navstar systems, while gnss includes gps, glonass, qzss, and sbas satellite constellation. if u r talking about a-gnss, it is still a gnss but combined with a location based setvice and network gnss module,…
  • Acer-blayn, i am using w511 and hve also conduct a trial and as philman stated, the dock wont charge. Please revisit your trial.
  • Kestrel, Will be waiting for good news from u with other OS, as I am using my w511 for day to day work both tablet and dock I dont have the luxury to play around with trying other OS but I would love to see android other than bluestack on the device Cheers
  • Kestrel, for usb drive (not dvd) i was able to boot using one of our member's guide here (only windows 8 not other os): Here are the steps needed to create a bootable USB drive: 1. Use a 4GB or smaller flash drive. 2. Follow these steps for creating the bootable drive:…
  • Kestrel, I use samsung usb dvd drive and i can boot from the system dvd which came from the w510 box.
  • As the title said, its usb bootable for other 32 bit based OS mate, if its for windows 8 or other recognizable uefi devices i can also do it without problems.
  • Philman, thats not what i meant, Its logical for those conditions: 1. Before update: dock charging tablet because dock % decreases while tablet battery % increases 2. After update: dock not charging tablet (only as backup battery) because dock % stays the same while tablet % decreases, and when tablet % zeroed out, dock…
  • It wont do padgett, its the bootable usb detection issue, not the method to boot from first issue. Someone also suggesting using a certain nic to boot as alternatives but i am not that tech savvy so i mind of doing it.
  • Omg, now i know the source of the draining battery issue, turns out the keyboard dock is actually charging the tablet!!!! i just found out from another post, and made me think why the keyboard dock always try to reconnect to the tablet...because its actually charging it!!! this also means that eventhough the system is off,…
