  • If it was never going over 78 and now thermal throttling it would be most likely the fans malfunctioning or not working at all. Also could be bad thermal paste job which has dried up. Yet this tends to take longer than months. Can you feel air blowing out both exhaust vents? I would take it back to Acer for repair or…
  • Thanks Red-Sand. Very happy with it.
  • Hey Goldark. 16gb SODIMM 2133mhz was $230 Australian. It is good to have 32gb yet it gets a bit rich when you go big capacity modules. I think 2 x 8gb would of been fine at this moment. However I already had one 16gb from the factory so wanted to keep it the same. I purchased the below ram in the link.…
  • Update. I purchased the G.Skill 16gb module. Installed in top slot and running perfectly. CPU-Z states dual channel. Performance in Battlefield 1 has increased dramatically. Little tip for anyone with one stick of RAM in single channel. Get another for dual and performance for games like Battlefield 1 will improve greatly.…
  • JackE. I opened the access panel and there are no ram slots taken up. CPU-Z tells me the current 16GB SODIMM is in slot 3. So looking at the pic you shared that is either in 1600 or 1700. With Dual Channel if it is in 1600 do I need to place the other module in 1601 or 1701? Vise versa if it is in 1700? Thanks mate.
  • JackeE. CPU Z tells me the current SODIMM is in slot 3 which i suspect is 1601?. So if I got another and placed it in 1600 it should work dual channel correct? Thanks mate.
  • Thanks for the response. I am confused with JakeE's response as I have seen videos and some other threads saying they have installed a new chip in the easy access panel and it runs dual channel. So one is under the keyboard (hard to access) and the other is in the access panel. Can someone please confirm? Is there an Acer…
  • Thanks for the responses. I believe the 16gb is in the hard to access spot unfortunately. Sri369 I wanted to add ram in dual channel as evidence shows you get much better performance having ram run in dual channel.
  • As mentioned I don't think WoW is very demanding yet with those temps it would suggest the CPU and GPU are not working very hard. Install MSI Afterburner and put the on screen overlay to show the percentage of CPU and GPU use during these slow downs. See where they are at. Could be a driver issue limiting frames? Did you…
  • Thanks for the reply ven98. I found the 5400rpm was causing a bit of stutter and texture pop in comapred to the SSD. Appreciate the information. However the BIOS has no option to change from RAID.
