How do I enable Numlock on my Acer notebook so I can type my Windows password?
The Numlock feature is disabled by default on the Windows 10 login screen. You can modify a registry key setting so Numlock is enabled every time your computer starts. Use the instructions below to enable Numlock:
- Type regedit in the Windows search box and press Enter.
- Navigate to the path: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard.
- Double click on the string named InitialKeyboardIndicators and change the value to 80000002.
- Click OK and close the Registry Editor.
- Restart your computer.
Note: Edit the Registry at your own risk. Incorrect changes to the Registry can cause operating system instability.
