What should I do when I get a “Something went wrong” error when I am using the camera application on my Acer Swift SF14-11/SFG14-01/SF14-11T ultrathin notebook?
Your Acer Swift ultrathin notebook is equipped with a brilliant 1440p QHD camera module that runs on a camera application by Morpho. However, running this application might cause a memory conflict with the Acer QuickPanel application that also runs on your computer. If this conflict occurs, the “Something went wrong” error message as shown below is displayed on your screen.
This error can be easily solved by updating the camera driver to version 2.1.9.0. For instructions on where you can download the driver and how you can install it, follow the steps below.
How to download and install the new camera driver
- Download the driver
- Go to www.acer.com.
- In the top menu, click on Support.
- In the left menu, click on Drivers and Manuals.
- Enter the serial number, SNID or model number of your computer in the search bar.
- Then click on your computer’s model name in the search results.
- Below the product information section, unfold the Drivers section.
- Go to the camera driver by Morpho, version 2.1.9.0.
- On the right of the driver, click on Download.
- Unzip the driver file
- Go to the Downloads folder on your computer.
- Locate the downloaded ZIP file in the folder.
- Right-click on ZIP file and select Unzip.
- Remove the old driver
- Right-click on the driver_remove.exe file in the folder.
- Then click on Run as administrator.
- When you get the screen as shown below, press Y.
- Install the new driver
- Right-click on the Install.cmd file in the folder.
- Now click on Run as administrator.The result should be as shown on the screenshot below.
- Press any key to finish the driver installation.
- Restart your computer
- When the installation is complete, click on the Windows icon in the task bar or press the Windows key.
- In the menu, go to the Power icon to unfold the menu.
- Click on Power.
- In the Power menu, click on Restart to restart your system.You can now use the Morpho application again without any issues.
