Can I change the login password of my Acer Connect Vero W6m router?
For security reasons, you should replace the default admin password of your Acer Connect Vero W6m router with a new unique password when you login to the Acer Connect dashboard for the first time. You also need to change your login password when it has been compromised.
To change the login password of your Acer Connect Vero W6m router, follow the steps below.
How to change the admin password of the Acer Connect Vero W6m router
- Connect a LAN cable to any of the LAN ports of your Acer Connect Vero W6m. See the image below for reference.
- Open an internet browser on your computer and type one of the following into the search bar of your browser:
- http://acerconnect.com
- 192.168.76.1
- Enter your password in the Enter password field. When you login for the first time, you need to use the default admin password that can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the device. Refer to Location of the Default Admin Password on Your Acer Connect Vero W6m.
- Click on the Log in button.
- In the menu on the left, click on the System tab.
- In the System submenu, click on Login password.
- On the Login password page, enter the following:
- Current password: enter the default admin password which you can find on the sticker on the bottom of your router.
- New password: come up with a new unique password and enter it here.
- Confirm new password: enter the new password here again.
- Now click on the Apply button to finalize the password change.
Note: If you want to see what you are typing, click on the Eye icon on the right of the input field.
