I have an Acer Nitro A515-54 and after I did I driver updates from the Acer Official website followed by a Windows 10 update, my touchpad seems to be not functioning as before. Now, after every reboot, my touchpad is working fine, but after waking up from sleep, not so much. It does not work. There are no devices showing in the device manager. I reset my PC (local mode), uninstalled all mouse and touchpad drivers followed by a restart, updated all my drivers using Iobit Driver Booster, updated Intel Serial IO drivers, but nothing seems to be working. It works only till my PC does not sleep, and sometimes it fails to start even after a reboot. Re-enabling the touchpad using Fn+F7 also does not work. I am using an external mouse all this time. Please help.

    Hi,
Go to BIOS and move to Main tab, press Ctrl+S buttons together and check whether you get the option for Touchpad, if you see the options click Touchpad and switch to Advanced mode.
If that doesn't help, try reinstalling Serial IO driver after downloading from Acer support site:Product Support | Acer United Kingdom

I would suggest you backup any important data and do a repair install, it's safe and you will not loose any settings, follow the instructions in the link below:

  • Does the same problem occur when changing the touchpad to basic in the bios?

    Hi canaryGrapher,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.

There's no such option in the BIOS. I have checked it thoroughly.
  • Try pressing fn + f7, just f7 and alt + f7. Also check this setting:

Did this too. Worked for a couple of hours and boom.
