It can be upgraded to maximum 32GB DDR4 2400MHz or higher RAM with two 16GB modules. A 2.5" SSD can be added up to 2TB with no issues. The 512GB m2 SSD shoud also be able to be increased/uprgraded to 2TB m,2 SATA3 or NVME card with no issues. The i5 CPU is soldered to the mainboard and cannot be upgraded. I have tried to upgrade RAM and putting HDD ref https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/621557/hdd-and-ram-upgrade-for-my-aspire-5-a514-53
RAM successfully did. But facing issues with HDD, after inserting HDD I am not able to put back cover due to the gap at the HDD bay .. back cover is having some projection due to HDD. Do I need to remove anything from the bay etc

What do you mean by an HDD!!!!???? You were going to add an SSD, not an HDD. What HDD did you buy? HDDs, unlike SSDs, come in two thickness sizes. 7mm and 9.5mm. If you bought the thick size HDD,  you may have issues attaching a metal frame to it. You can fix this by not using the frame but by immobilizing and protecting the HDD with foam. Jack E/NJ
