It is helpful to let the community know the following:

    What computer do you have?
What operating system is on the computer?

Do you have any error messages other than the "Intel Rapid storage technology has stopped working?"

What have you attempted to do to rectify the issue?

Tommy, I have the same problem. Re: Below: 1st is the msg. 2nd the results of the intel search for update. 3rd is all the info about my Acer machine. I'm pretty sure this occured after BSOD occured when coming out of Sleep/Hybernation. After BSOD a clean reboot work ed fine and Win7 noted the BSOD and asked if I'd like it to look for a solution, which I repled, YES. The end results was 'Solve a problem with Intel Rapid Storage Technology' Under Window 'Solve PC Issues'. Can I install the updated driver?

    Drive Date 12/3/2012

    Driver release (see below)11.7.0.1013

     Please advise, Carl

Same problem on Aspire 1410 (11.6) running W7.

Unexpected shutdown followed by 'Intel rapid storage technology has stopped working properly' error message on reboot and a link from Action centre to the driver update page shown above.

Should I install the updated driver? The laptop has been operating fine since this episode yesterday but I can't risk more unexpected shutdowns and the possibility of losing work (.....PhD thesis).

Why would this problem with the driver suddenly arise? There hasn't been any windows updates for about a month.

    Well, just happened again.

    I have Aspire 5732Z

    Windows 7 home premium

I have only searched the world for a solution and am told my computer manufacturer is only one that can help.

    cace2002,

Have you ever heard from Acer on this issue?  I had it occur again this morning.  My laptop was in sleep mode at the time.

The screencast links appear dead to me so I'm not sure of your issue.

However, you may like to have a look at my post regarding an irst fix.

If it helps then great, if not then remove the registry entries.

Sorry about the screencast not available since they were from last year.

But this post below is the crux of thye problem. there was never a download available I could locate. Intel only said the manufacturer uses a proprietary product.  Acer was no help.

I'm unable to see in the specifications or drivers available for the Aspire 5732Z where we included Intel Rapid Storage.

I do see that Intel has the software available on their site.

I would suggest that you do one of the following:

Tommy, please advise where I can find the Rapid storage to uninstall it. Can I just leave it uninstalled and not update? I would need technical help and will get someone, if necessary. Thank you.
