Hi there, I purchased this laptop a couple months ago and just noticed that the battery is not charging. It works but the battery is not charging when plugged in and goes down when unplugged.
I've tried to uninstall the battery drivers and restart but same thing. I've tried the battery reset by holding the power button for 15 secs, same thing.
Please help, should I bring it back since it's only maybe 2 months old

You mean the charging LED is lighting up but the battery does not increase charge percentage? Sounds like a faulty battery.
To be sure, use another charger from someone you know. Compare your power ratings first. If another charger makes the battery charge to 100% then, of course, it means you need a new charger. I don't remember how long the warranty period lasts for laptop accessories.
On the other hand, if it doesn't, but your own charger works fine on your friend's computer, then it's your battery.

For this you should take care to use another laptop with the same specs too. You don't want to plug in a charger of lower or higher power rating as it could damage the charger or your laptop, respectively. Easiest way to check is to buy a charger yourself. But of you don't want to do that, and don't know anybody with a similar laptop, then the authorised service centre is your best bet.

There is the chance of the wall socket you're using being damaged, though I suppose you already tried that?

See if this helps. It's recent:- https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/587853/an517-51-battery-plugged-in-not-charging

This laptop is brand new and the charger should be working. I don't know anyone with the same laptop, so they should send me a replacement charger to try.

I doubt they would send you a replacement charger just to try, if you tell them. I think you'll have to send your computer and charger to them for inspection.
Anyway, you should contact support and ask them what they will do first. There should be a service-centre-locator on their website
