Recently I've had this problem where I come back to my laptop (after a meal or something), open the lid, and the screen doesnt wake. I try to sleep/shutdown using Win+X, but nothing happens because I/Os aren't working. connected peripherals do not light up, nor do monitors. i have power connected all the time so it probably not the battery either. it's really annoying since I lost some work due to this.

I've checked system event logs, no warnings or errors until the forced shutdown holding the power key.

i have the E5-576-392H

Open ControlPanel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in the left pane. All settings on battery and plugged in should be set to sleep mode. Jack E/NJ
