I Have Been using my Predator Since past  1 year it never gave any problem in terms of Temperatures usually temp while gaming would go as max as 80-82°c and idle would stay around 50°c
but since past few days i noticed whenever i plug in my charger and use my predator even on IDLE the temperature would go till 60 sometimes 70 and then predator sense would then show usually temperature rising upto 80°c and then suddenly dropping to 60s or 50s{attached Pic} i dont know whats going on with my laptop suddenly ( i agree the country i live is having hot temperature but it didn't gave such unusual temperatures before)
and while gaming its an entirely different story temperature goes as high as 97°c

Please help....

something that i noticed
when its not charging temperature of idle remains around 49°c and gaming temperature reamains 56°c

(As u can see on idle with charger plugged in its reaching unusually high tempratures)

Those are normal temps and you should have nothing to worry about, as the Predator 300 PH315-51 even if it reaches temps in the mid to high 90c will automatically turn off if the temps are harmful, these laptops are designed that way. The only thing that you can do (this is if your Predator 300 PH315-51 is out of warranty?) is to repaste the cpu/gpu with a high grade paste like e.g. Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut using the “pea dot” method also, make sure that your cpu/gpu fan ducts are clean and also get yourself a good laptop tablet cooler. All in all, there is no magic cure for laptop cooling, as ambient temperatures and dissipation of heat are a high factor of how the laptop performs and generates its temperatures especially in hot climates and high end usage e.g. gaming and demanding software.

Otherwise, you will have to take drastic measures like increase and/or add additional case venting and/or remove the ribbing and mesh (at the rear) of the Predator 300 PH315-51 venting for additional crossflow ventilation.

Yes its out of warranty... and the idle temperature reaching upto 80°c suddenly is normal when I'm not doing anything???? (when charger is plugged in)

Also can u explain why on battery the idle temperature was so low

Did you ever changed thermal paste and clean fans, air vents?
If you are hard gamer then you need to apply thermal paste after every 1 year.
Not all cpus but usually above 90 degrees they all start to throttling and by consequence the performance it will be greatly reduced as the cpu or gpu are trying to cooldown (it's a gaming laptop afterall) if undervolting/optimizing is not enough my advice its to repaste with a proper professional paste kryonaut or any other with the same specs also keeping the vents/fans and airflow exit cleaned free of debris is a must

You not under warranty so you can do it yourself
Thermal paste is easy to apply and also you need to clean fans and air vents.
There many YouTube videos on it you can watch some
    And use Thermal Grizzly kyronaut

Look, you are worrying for nothing, 80c on idle is nothing to be concerned about, it might be that the OP and some background apps might be using the cpu and that is why the temp go up. Your temps are nothing to be alarmed about, try what I’ve suggested and see if your temps go down as that could be the reason why your temps have gone up (to the OEM) as the OEM paste must have deteriorated and needs repasting and also your fans need cleaning, simple.

Also, if you would have quoted my reply then I would have been notified that you answered my post and I would have replied! This is not a chat forum, it works by notifications and whenever your quote an answer so that person can reply to you. .

I got it now thank you I'm actually a newbie:) and fine as per you said I'll try changing the thermal paste 1 question though as I've never opened the laptop only pcs i was curious can liquid metal thermal paste short circuit the board?

No i never cleaned the air vents nor ever changed the thermal paste as its just been an year and i take special care of it like not keeping it in dust etc but I get it dust can get absorbed while running so yes I'll check it I'm right now confused which thermal paste to buy  as u suggested "Thermal Grizzly kyronaut"
I heard liquid metal thermal paste can leak out and cause short circuit any other type of thermal paste you would wanna suggest hows "Artic MX 4 2019 Edition"

I recently used arctic mx-4 to repaste my helios 300. Its not great but I got a decrease of 20'C on 60fps. For me 60 fps is enough, but more than that it gets to about 90'C. I think kryonaut is the best(its also safe).

Daniyal welcome to microsoft windows 1909/2004 the high idle temps are microsoft fault they changed the way the cpu cores work under windows also have u optimised your windows properly and undervolted if not do so check here if still needed after repaste it with kryonaut or similar if you can without voiding your warranty clean the fans properly and exit airflow and always keep the back lifted 2/3" for a proper airflow or send it back to acer to get it repasted with stock paste the cpu shouldnt go above 85'ish and dgpu 70/75 max good luck :)

PS: do not use liquid metal its not for beginners (even advanced users like me can screw up that why i dont use it myself) if not properly isolate everything and properly applied you may burn you mobo its highly conductive kryonaut its the best thermal paste you can get use the spread method only a thin layer covering both diodes its enough too much thermal paste its bad also its a old predator regarding the thermal pads they dont need to be replaced if they arent damaged or you damage them on disassembling so be very careful

Also its normal that on battery only the temps wont go up because the dgpu will not overclock on battery mode neither the cpu will turbo boost and you should never use it on battery only the battery main purpose its only to provide the adapter with extra power when this one cant provide enough to the cpu/gpu make sure the battery is always 100% charged before you start any games and as i said you will damage you battery if you use it for gaming only light works and emergency situations calibrate your battery once every 3/6 months depending on the usage and keep an eye on the wear percentage with either hwinfo or battery bar pro if more than 20% its already damaged the cells wont hold the designed capacity anymore you should replace it asap hope this explanation helps everyone.

I apologise if i sounded demanding in my other post i wont do that again thanks for the tip and thanks a loooot for the help so its this windows the culprit here because i do remember updating it recently yey finally ik what to do I'll start off by using throttle stop then if that doesn't help I'll reapply thermal paste and then clean off the vents  will update here if it fixes it

It's most likely just background services, auto updaters and various polling task schedules and services that constantly are pinging your CPU causing the increase in idle usage and temps.

    For example:
If you use MSI Afterburner's monitoring service at it's default setup, it's monitoring like 30 services that constantly poll every 3000ms.

Easiest way is to look at your task manager and watch what processes are using CPU and if possible > remove the startup and task schedules for those programs. (Plz make sure they aren't critical).

Most, if not all of the startup programs can be disabled safely (even windows defender etc on startup {the task manager tab} as it's only the system tray service and not the actual AV).

I read the Throttlestop undervolt Profile Forum that u linked and finally decided that ill give it a try just curious that after undervolting if i want to go back to original setting what would be the process or would i be able to revert back to original setting at all or not after using throttlestop
