Or if you want to install your operating system in UEFI mode (which is the latest format) first, make sure that the bios is in UEFI Mode and the HDD is recognised, then do this:

Reformatting the drive using a different partition style

    1. To wipe and convert the drive by using Windows Setup
    2. Turn off the PC, and put in the Windows installation DVD or USB key.
    3. Boot the PC to the DVD or USB key in UEFI mode. For more info, see Boot to UEFI Mode or Legacy BIOS mode.
    4. When choosing an installation type, select Custom.
    5. On the Where do you want to install Windows? screen, select each of the partitions on the drive, and select Delete. The drive will show a single area of unallocated space.
    6. Select the unallocated space and click Next. Windows detects that the PC was booted into UEFI mode, and reformats the drive using the GPT drive format, and begins the installation.
    7. After continue with the Windows Installation procedure to fully install windows.

"Also when I go into uefi the hdd is unrecognized" then change it to [Legacy BIOS] mode and see if the HDD is recognised, the HDD should be recognised.

If you haven't got the Windows installation USB then get a 8GB USB and download on another computer (or buy a copy of Win-10 and key from a computer store on USB or DVD if you have a DVD?) to get and download a copy of Windows 10 go here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 to "Create Windows 10 installation media" from here Download tool now and then put 8GB USB into computer USB slot and download it from the Microsoft site, then install it on your laptop, simple.
