ACER A615-51-52ES

I've been asked to look at a dead laptop for a friend. The unit does not turn on.

Initially there were no lights at all, but I reset the battery using the pinhole and now the LED near the power supply LED does come on. It turned from orange to blue after a while.

It is still unresponsive. No fan spinning, no noises, no response.

There is 19V coming from the adapter. I took the back off and checked the CMOS voltage, it is 3v. When the interlock button is pressed near the memory modules, there is a supply voltage at  the battery terminal connects to the motherboard.

The BIOS was last updated in June 2019, due to investigations for touchpad issues. I don't know what version it was.

I've tried holding down power buttons, disconnecting the battery, etc.

Any ideas?

Or

Do acer offer fixed price repairs?

I got it to start by dismantling it and reseating all of the ribbon cables. I then disconnected the power supply, put a pin in the battery reset button alongside holding down the power button on the keyboard.

However, keys other than power now don't work.
