Laptop A515-43 one day was fine, then one day I turned on and no power, fan, light...completely dead.  I tried to do few things: reset lithium battery, remove battery and reset power button, tested the charger and the power plugin (two tests were fine), still no luck.  Submitted online for repair to Acer  but been waiting forever and no respond (I guess due to pandemic).  Really stuck at this point.

Can you tell me more what do you meant by "check this button interlock"?  I didn't see what button like the one you showed on the pic

  • there must be a button next to the ram. but it depends on the motherboard version. besides, did you test the battery with a multimeter too?

Tonight i fell asleep. And when awakened the charging blue light was on but not poer button. Screen was black, and nothing on. I pressed power button. Blue on light came on for about 3-5 seconds then off. I pressed again, blue poer light came on and went off again. I disconnected adapter and same thing when trying to turn on.  I want to also note that for the past 3 days the "y" button will only work sometimes, today not at all. All buttons otherwise fine. This laptop is about 1 year old. Last month I had a bad adaptor so bought a universal and been working fine until this week.   Any suggestions?

I had the exact same problem with this laptop, except mine lasted 1 year and 3 months. Just long enough so it was not covered under the warranty. I had never owned an Acer product before. After reading about all these people having the same issue with this laptop and Acer is doing nothing to try to save customers. The customer service representative I spoke to said for the affordable price of $150 I could send the laptop to Acer so they could diagnose the problem. Then I could pay whatever ridiculous price for the repair. I'm not paying for the same laptop twice. I am a first time Acer customer and a last time Acer customer. There is clearly a problem on the manufacturer end, it just happens to surface after the warranty is up. That is awfully convenient. SMH!
