Ive just had my predator-Helios 300 for just 1 year and ive already begun to fear that i may have downloaded a permormance altering virus

1st my games run better when i have the charger plugged in and 2nd is that i have 4.01 GB of memory left?
any clues on how to fix both of these?

sorry if this is really vague

    Hi!!

    @JBGrasshopper

For your information, laptop will run at maximum performance while it is charging. This is the reason, why your games run better while charging. If you feel that your computer is infected by virus.... with no hesitation & delay just do a complete System Scan using the Security Software installed in your computer.

If it's vague then please be more specific. First what is your exact model number, for example PH***-**? Next how much RAM do you have installed?
Run a Scan using Windows Defender or any other Anti Virus you have installed but you have told us nothing that indicates a virus
My colleague above is correct, your processor runs at around 50% when on battery alone. To run games at maximum you should ALWAYS game with your battery charged to 100% BEFORE gaming and KEEP plugged into the power supply while gaming. From what you have said about your RAM you obviously don't have 16 gb which is the preferred RAM for gaming so upgrade to 8 x 8gb 2666Mhz DDR4 SODIMM for 16gb total.
Go to Task Manager and under the Startup Tab disable any programs that are not needed at start up, for example Skype etc..
Update your Nvidia GPU from here https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us#
Go to the support page for your model and make sure your BIOS is up to date, you only need the latest one it contains all other updates

Do All these things and you will see significant overall improvement

PH315-51 is NOT the exact complete model # of your laptop. There are many ways to locate exact model # of a computer. Below I have listed few easy methods to locate the exact model # of Acer unit.

    Method 1:-
Locate the Acer sticker on the side or bottom of the Acer unit. The sticker is usually white with black text or black with white text. The model of the Acer is printed in the "Model" section of the sticker

    Method 2:-
Power on the Acer laptop  and press "F2" repeatedly to enter BIOS. Locate the model in the "Product Name" section of the Information tab. The model is listed in this section on all Acer computers. Press "Escape" to exit the BIOS.

    Method 3:-
You can find the model on the Acer by pressing the "Windows" key, typing "dxdiag" and then clicking the "dxdiag.exe" link. The model is listed in the System Model section of the System tab.

    Method 4:-
Alternatively, press "Windows," type "msinfo32" and click the "msinfo32.exe" link. The model of the Acer unit is displayed in the System Model section of the System Summary tab.

By following any one of the above method, get the exact complete model # of your laptop and please share it.

JBGrasshopper first of all according to what you wrote above your shouldnt be running anything on battery, only really light work the battery main purpose on any gaming laptops its to aid the adapter with more power when this one cant provide enough to the cpu/gpu and always make sure the battery its 100% charged and on ac before you start any games also if you only have 8gb ram i suggest you to upgrade to 16gb dual channel 2 x 8gb or even 32gb 2x16 i recommend if you have a 8th gen+ cpu hyperx/vengeance 2666 if 7th gen 2400 also take a look at your temps if you have high temps its probably time to get it cleaned and repaste it but first optimize windows and undervolt it if you havent already check here

    https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/11532543

    UserBenchmarks: Game 43%, Desk 61%, Work 40%
    CPU: Intel Core i5-7300HQ - 63.5%
    GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050-Ti (Mobile) - 41.9%
    SSD: WDC WDS200T2B0B-00YS70 2TB - 71.4%
    HDD: WD WD10SPZX-00HKTT0 1TB - 93.7%
    RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR4 2666 C15 2x16GB - 76.8%
    MBD: Acer Predator G3-572

If my answer fixed you issue please accept it for any other users who search for it would find it quickly thanks :)

16gb of RAM Is fine but it appeared from your earlier post that you only had 8gb, are you sure that you have 16gb?
Did you do all I have listed below? If not do them then tell us the results
The steps we are giving you are designed to find out what the problem is, if you don’t do them we can’t help you any further
Please open Task Manager and click the memory tab then post a screenshot
