Hi. I've had my Predator Helios 300 since the end of June. I don't play every day but when I do I reach 92 degrees Celcius. Is that bad or good? I am new to PC's so i am not sure what to do. Should I purchase a cooling pad?

@Theo21 its bad have you already optimized windows and undervolted (or even further more if its a H300 2019) check here if so you might need to repaste it with kryonaut or similar yourself if you can without voiding your warranty but if you have seals/stickers you cant you would have to contact acer support and send it back to get it repasted your cpu shouldnt go above 80/85 max (just some spikes to higher temps are completely normal to happen in more demanding games/tasks) and your gpu shouldnt also go above 70/75 max also cooling pads are useless but if you want one i can advise you a coolermaster notepal xl but you shouldnt need it you just have to keep the back of the laptop elevated 1/2 inches for better airflow

xapim can you stop recommending those things? Why Acer put there that paste than? This is thing for reclamation! They need to get ALL laptops back and refund users for selling junk!

Do you know the percentage of laptops with heat or other issues verses those sold that operate correctly? I didn't think so. Taking Amazon sales as an example, of those people who bother to leave a review, there isn't a Predator out there with less than 4 stars...most being around 4.5 stars. That's pretty good given that most people don't leave reviews unless there is an issue.

I agree that Acer needs to fix the defective ones...and they do under warranty. Please keep in mind this is a support forum, people don't come here unless they have a problem for the most part. Given that, it's honestly pretty quiet around here.

OMG....most of poeple are just dumb, happy with theyr 100FPS in game not carring about lag spikes and things. On discussion they are even able to defend Acer, saying it is normal that laptop overheats and other bullshits. And Acer happilly manufacture broken laptops...on EVERY review you can read it is OVERHEATING!! I wish i have readed it sooner. So...whats your point? Also defending them? "Ahh yeah, they sell laptop what was not able to cool itself but common, you can send it to service..."?????? WTF is wrong with you poeple.

    I am not most people.
I don't get lags or spikes.
I never said it was normal to overheat. I said it will be fixed under warranty if you're one of the unlucky few with this problem.
Every review says it's over heating? Strange that so many people give them high marks.
Both mine work great, as do the vast majority sold.

Sorry you had a bad experience, wish I could help.

So....in review is everything good, laptop is little hot and blah blah....in reality CPU reaches 95°C and starts throttling, after another while it shortly limit itself in order to cool itself (making FPS drop to like 10 in that moment). That is not normal and EVERY review will tell you that notebook reaches those temperatures. So it IS EVERY FKIN ACER PREDATOR 300!!!!! I see they made another fan on newer model, they didnt get away with my generation of junk. Thats why it have that fkin another FAN! SO STOP TELLING ME BULLSHITS!!!!!!
