Why do games lag so much after a while, specifically watch dogs and borderlands which get more than

The lag is like the dgpu detaches itself suddenly while working fine

sohail179 what is your full model number and how are your temps also have you optimized windows and undervolted it (if a H300 2019 comes pre undervolted but it can be more using TS check here ) and are you on AC

sohail179 for starters disabling the turbo the cpu to lower the temps its not a solution at all (if this is the case here) and whoever gave you that advice doesnt know anything about it  your lag its probably because you have your turbo disables and the games asks for the cpu to clock higher and it cant its not allowed its disabled if youre talking about the gpu itself only your gpu shouldnt go above 70/75 max and cpu 80/85 you are way too high on temps you have throttling on the gpu thats why u have lag you solution its what i mention above optimize windows and undervolt it and if still needed repaste it with kryonaut if you can yourself without voiding your warranty or send it back for a repaste

I have done repasting with arctic MX 4 and have tried undervolting but still I ended up with high temps

sohail179  seems to me you have done a bad repaste even with artic mx it should get better results but try again this time with kryonaut instead and use the spread method just a thin layer covering both diodes its enough too much its bad the same as too less it has to be the exact amount of paste als make sure you didnt damage any of the thermal pads neither bent the heatsink in any way while you disassembled it the first time as it needs to be perfectly leveled when screwed back the plate contact with the diodes will have air bubbles causing thermal issues  my temps dropped 25+ down after optimizing windows/undervolting and repasting with kryonaut

Ps i also have/played watchdogs(have uplay+ and many other launchers/subs) and borderlands without any issues

Btw,what temps do you get while playing farcry 5 ,do you limit your fps? That's very cpu intensive even for pcs, do let me know the measures you took, i always thermal throttle on that game whatever I do

sohail179 i get gpu 65/70 cpu 70/75 max on all games including latest also of Fc5/newdawn/Anthem/Bf5/dest2/overwatch/blackops/shadow of the tomb raider/wolfenstein/MHW/FFXV all of them etc.. and so on i currently have about 130+ games installed of the 500++ i have and im running  as i said if youre throttling you need to repaste it again properly if optimizing/undervolting isnt working  after i repasted with kryonaut in the first week i got it the temps went down 25+ and this was 2 years ago and the same temps remain all gaming laptops need to be tweaked by the user to work properly and give you the best performance if you dont do it you will never achieve it bare in mind a gaming laptop its nothing more that a desktop specs in a very small case if not maintained properly will never work properly

sohail179 i dont use ab curve i just overclock it also bare in mind i only have a 1050ti and a i5 7th gen :) and thast what you usually do when you undervolt you limit your cpu to lower clocks my conf was manually made following the video but you have ready made confs here just download the conf for your cpu copy/paste into TS folder

Personally, I would suggest getting a laptop cooler pad instead - atleast you won't risk burning out fans or frying out components.

@sohail179 they arent my videos they are Red-Sand's and no you cant change the fan curves on any laptops they all have locked bios but you can change the gpu curve by also undervolting it with msi afterburner (might not work properly on newer windows builds 1903/1909) you can check the videos and sometimes undervolting works fine but sometimes needs to be repasted if the temps stay the same after undervolting its the silicone lottery and a bit of luck that you get one with a proper application :)
