    I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to help. Your advice was good. But it seems that there is a problem with my recovery disk. I should probably just try to purchase a recovery media from Acer. 
  • Yes, I think the usb stick containing erecovery for your model could solve the problem.

    Where did you purchase your SA12? if outside the US you likely will have to contact support for that locale in order to get the media. They have different images based on language, keyboard layout, etc. If you go to the Acer store in the US or Canada they have media for the US and Canada but not for the rest.

    Unfortunately I bought it outside the US. I currently work in Saudi Arabia and I bought it here. I have had hardware issues before and when I took it to the company that is supposed to honor the warranty on the device, they tried to charge me about 40% of the original price that I paid for this PC. That's why I don't go to them. Isn't there a way to get the eRecovery media from the US shipped to Saudi Arabia?

    I would like to understand why Acer does not sell erecovery in other countries and also does not sell erecovery via .iso file download, so the user himself can download and put it on the USB stick. It would be interesting for Acer to provide this download.

    To be honest, I believe that I made a big mistake when I bought this computer. Acer's customer service is horrible. After you purchase the item, they don't care what happens to their product. The only reason I kept this laptop is because I didn't want to sell it to someone and make them suffer with it. I contacted them several times and every time they say: "we will look into this" and nothing happens.

    Hello:
    Yes, one of the solutions helped me to in performing D2D recovery. However, I didn't get the Acer software that originally came with this computer. I bought the device in Saudi Arabia and with the company that does repairs for Acer is that it is full of crooks and thieves. They don't honor the warranty and they force people to pay a lot of money to fix things that can otherwise be fixed for free. I don't want to deal with them. I tried to inform Acer about them, but every time my complaints fell on deaf ears. And now that I need the eRecovery media, you're saying that I have to get back to them to get it, I'd rather throw my computer in the trash can.

    The Acer warranty for software is 90 days and for hardware is 1 year. Please click on link bellow for warranty information.

    Acer recommend our customers to create the USB recovery drive from the hidden partition that come from factory default, if you not created that partition and is out of the 90 days warranty, so in this case, the option is to contact your local Acer support channels or repair center to purchase a new copy (USB recovery). This is a peer-to-peer Community support and not direct contact to Acer support.
