So today when opening predator sense i found that my Nvidia Gtx 1060 Fans Are off?
they are just 0 rpm even if i max the fan control, same. and with opening game like DOOM the temp go to 96 c so fast,
i tried to upgrade my NVIDIA DRIVER it finaly worked but only on cool boost and can't pass the 4500 rpm even thought the CPU fans working fine. but then after like 20-30 min it back off to the first problem and back to 0 rpm even when the fan control are max. i really don't know how or why this is happening and i need your help.

  • Have you tried reinstalling nitro sense just to make sure it is a bug in the program? Although fans are disabled when the temperature is below 45 ° C, I don't think this is the case.

Codycraig check if the fan is physically working (for ex launch a game) if the fan its not working send it to warranty asap for a replacement @egydiocoelho its not under 45  its under 40 that the fans stop (at least on mine and i suspect they should all behave the same way unless Acer has different bios fan curves per model) i tested mine loads of times my gpu on idle its on 41 and the fan is at 2068rpm if i get the fans on max and i manage to get both cpu and gpu under 40 as soon as i get back to auto the fans will completely stop for a short period :)

I may be wrong regarding the minimum temperature limit. But, I have the impression @xapim, that when the temperature is too low, the fans are disabled, see: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/671040
However, I think his fans are really in trouble too.

HANGOD my suggestion is if you can open it yourself without voiding your warranty get some good thermal paste like kryonaut clean your fans ad repaste after see if the gpu fan is working if its still not working you need to replace it

  • But does repaste not violate the warranty @xapim? Wouldn't it be better for him to buy the thermal paste and send it to the technical service for the technicians to replace the thermal paste and the troubled fan?

if its out of warranty or you just want to do it yourself then make sure you clean it first and don't forget try to apply some lubricant.
Tips 1: For gaming laptop make sure before you shut down especially after a heavy gaming session to let it cool down for at least 10min before you switch it off!

It could be that the fans are dirty, or you need a replacement fan. If you're cleaning the fans, no need to take the fan wires out. If you'll replace them, just be very careful you put the fan wire tips in EXACTLY as they were. My warranty was useless so i opened my own laptop, which is easy if you use a plastic tool, like an old credit card it'll come apart clean. Don't be afraid to buy the cheapest fan you see, either.
  • I would try to reset the battery to check if it solves the problem:
If the problem remains, I suggest replacing the fans, as said by xapim and eminem2ka9

@egydiocoelho If you have seals yes it will void it if you dont have seals no it will not (as long as nothing is damaged during the disassembly/assembly process dont advise it to anyone who had never done it before), he could buy the paste as you suggested but its not guaranteed that they would use it they will only use it if they want to they are not required to the only required pasted that they will have to use its the stock they may refuse to use anything else its in their right
