Hi i am new to the community and this is my first post. i have my laptop for a month now(bought it last december as a gift for myself). i watch a lot of videos on youtube how undervolting would help the temperature.i got 8750H. so far i just decreased the value of turbo boost power max from 45.00W to 15.00W. i wanted to know what is the optimal settings or the most stable settings for undervolt. hopefully you can give me an insight on what are the do's and don'ts. i did saw some guides some of them are just to complicated. hopefully you can help me :)

I use XTU as I like it's simplicity and integrated support. Lots of advanced users prefer ThorttleStop as it has more options and configurations. Choose whichever suits your needs.

Typically, I start with -0.100v undervolt and test. I then move in -0.010v increments lower and test between changes. Every chip is different so it's not possible to suggest an ending value for your 8750H.
If you undervolt in this way, you can increase your Turbo Boost Max back to 45W and still see cooling benefits from the undervolt while retaining maximum processing power. While lowering the maximum wattage of the chip will make it run cooler, compared to just an undervolt, you are losing performance.

Hi, MaliceofKings. I'm pretty new here too. I'm quite computer savvy, but not much of a gamer (my son is, which is why I'm on this forum), so I wasn't sure how to set up a gaming computer to run more efficiently. I did a lot of reading and learning, but usually ended up in this forum. I recommend having a look at this thread: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/546499/undervolting-i7-8750h/p1 for undervolting the i7-8750H. As tobimaru said, all CPU's are different, but I used the value of -0.140 suggested in that thread and my son's Predator is completely stable with it. I had read somewhere on here that XTU sometimes doesn't save the settings, so I used ThrottleStop. Following the guides on here made it fairly easy to do.
Undervolting alone wasn't really getting my son's temps down where I was comfortable, so I used this thread to guide me through installing and setting up Park Control. Once I used that to make more adjustments to the Power Plan, it got the temps down to a level I was much more comfortable with. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/551954/settings-to-reduce-temperatures-some-settings-to-lower-temperatures-and-increase-performance/p1
Have a look at them and see if any of it helps you. Good luck.

decreasing the turbo boost power max from 45W to 15W is too low.

Setting Turbo Boost power limit from 45w to 15w is not "undervolting".

That is simply decreasing the power sent to the CPU after the initial 28 seconds expires during a long process of the "short boost" 56w.

Please default all settings you adjusted and remove XTU completely after removal shut down (not reboot) your system... Then download this file.

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6nizg3gi5z3eopt/AADAbbv4XkUha7u5sH0Tv_Lca?dl=0

It is a Pre-configured i7-8750H Throttlestop folder complete with configurations and undervolt.

There is nothing to do but download the folder > place folder into "My Documents" > open folder and run "Throttlestop.exe".

Play games etc after you have activated it and minimized this program and let me know the temperature results.

    Thanks.

This is really old, so hopefully you see this. But I just used this for my Acer Predator Helios 300 with the i7-8750H. My I also have a 1060. This DID bring my temps down, thank you. However, my GPU is running at 100% when I play (using predator sense). Obviously it's not always at 100%, but when it's not at 100% it's pretty close, for example 95%. Is this Ok?

Also, do I need to run the program every time I load my laptop? I assume so just checking.
    Thanks for the help

I tried to edit my post to add two screenshots, but it wouldn't let me for some reason so I'm just posting again. The first shows my GPU when it hit it's max of 100%, the second shows my GPU highest percentage max of 87%. Just want to make sure this is normal?

Yes depending on the game itself you're fine everything under 85 it's ok

To be sure we're on the same page, I'm wondering if it's ok that my Load percentage for my GPU is at 100%, and my CPU percentage is at 87%. I'm not worried about the temperature anymore.

Hi all, I am new here too. i just bought my Predator Helios 300 recently, since this model already factory tuned undervolting 0.125V, so if i want to use the Intel XTU to undervolt it, it should further undervolt on top of the -0.125V (lets say now my lappy already -0.125V and i wish to further undervolt to -0.15V, so i am further undervolting 0.025V?) or undervolt from its original voltage?

    FYI, my lappy is i5 9300H, RTX 2060 6GB, 16 GB RAM, 256GB + 240GB PCIe NVMe SSD and 1 TB 5400 RPM HDD.

by the way i wish to change the stock thermal paste to a better one which one from the below is better?

    1. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Grease Paste
    2. Arctic MX-4
    3. Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut

Kindly advice and thanks in advance.

j8ggsawt4eat undervolting works on all cpus 7/8/9th gen and i suggest using TS instead to make sure xtu doens not create any incompatibility issues

YaoShan25 definitely kryonaut on mine dropped 25+ down after optimizing/undervolting and regarding the undervolting values you would have to go to -0.140V if you wish to have 15 more and so on for more undervolt increase for less decrease

Hi im a newbie here. As a matter of fact I just bought my first ever laptop. A predator helios 300 i5 9300H. Ive been having temp issues until I found out about Intel XTU. Set it to .-135 since it is pre set to -.125 by acer. Currently my max temp playing CS GO in full video settings is 87 and I am not satisfied by this temp since my room is air-conditioned and I also have a cooling pad. I tried to watch tutorial videos about using Throttleshop however it really is hard to understand even just watching the videos. Does anyone have a link to download throttleshop with already set profile tweaks for core i5 9300h with GTX 1660 Ti?? @xapim help me plssss

I tried to undervolt my CPU and I got to -0.165, and saved it. When I restarted my computer, I noticed the thermals were back to what they were prior to the undervolt, and checked XTU and the undervolt was back to the default one that was set by Acer. How can I make the default undervolt -0.165 without Acer's default -0.125 overriding it?
