    Did windows update your drivers?
C'mon man......who doesn't keep the drivers updated?! I literally first check any software updates as soon as i start my laptop. This issue is persistent since I bought the laptop. But I got to know after when I bought some games to play after months. This is still happening and mostly this choking issue happens in CS:GO. (No matter if the graphics settings are set on minimum and very low too)
I don't keep my windows updated and it's not advisable as windows installs its own drivers and the issues begin there (so what u just said it's a bit dumb if you knew a bit about how windows/microsoft works you would not be saying that) make sure you have all your factory drivers from acer installed (compare installed versions versions with acer versions) if not uninstall them and reinstall the drivers from acer support for you model especially the gpu drivers

Trust me, many don't do this! Why break something that's not broken? Drivers once set and working properly do not need to be updated every other week. You can wait a few months, more like 3-6 months before updating for any significant changes.

Exactly what i was trying to say why break it lol the only driver that might need update (or not) its the gpu and that's nothing to do with windows at all its either with nvidia or amd depending on the gpu

Sorry if you felt offended. But understand the problem, each and every solution i tried is not working for me. Also my warranty is going to end on 29th November, 2018. I am so much scared and I tried to see the price for extended warranty but it is too costly.

    Have you checked for dust?
Metal fans = static from motion = dust magnet

My laptop is unplugged and I was playing gta V on ultra setting few moments ago then i saw fps around 15-20 then I changed the direct x setting to direct x 10 from 12 then i am getting around 28-35fps
gaming laptops are meant to be plugged in while gaming. When you unplug it, the system will automatically saves power to avoid too much power loss.

Has someone found a solution yet ? i have an acer predator PH315-51 , 1050 ti nvidia, i used to play pubg in high to medium settings for about 3-4 months without any problems and suddenly from the past 2 weeks i get these constant fps drops like it hovers around 80-90 normally and suddenly drops to 0-10 range for 1-2 seconds , this happens very frequently i am so frustrated please some one help. i also get these microstutters while right clicking and on clicking the battery icons etc. :(
My model is G3-572. It's just about a year old. I didn't have any problems all this time and it ran really smoothly but off late I've been experiencing the same problems of drastic random fps drops. Moreover, this seems to happen even when I'm streaming a video on Netflix, etc. in 1080P. I've updated the NVIDIA drivers from their website but to no avail. This is really frustrating. Any help will be appreciated.
