My acer nitro an515-52 automatically turns off keyboard backlight when it's plugged into the wall. Anyone with the same problem and solution ? it started after i updated the bios to 1.22
I have been informed that the backlight functionality for On Battery Power or AC Adapter Power has been change to do the same (always turn off 30 seconds after the last key stroke), i understand that their's been reports and comments in the community that you're not happy with this update and therefore we are forwarding this message to our design/engineering team for feedback.
I've heard that the auto-switching of the keyboard backlight is a power saving feature (not a new one) that doesn't mind that the laptop is on AC or not
@Th0r Just want to clarify that the intended behavior of the backlight on all Nitro's 5 and Acer models is to always turn off 30 seconds after the last key stroke, this is not a bug but a feature (is not new), and it is a power saver (it does save on battery life) For more option you can check the below link https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34903

do you have any idea what you are talking about?if it was always a feature(on AC or not) how come the keyboard light stayed on forever on AC power on BIOS 1.19 and every previous BIOS versions? i downgraded to 1.19 from 1.22 now and my kb light now stays on forever on AC power.as soon as i will upgrade to 1.22 it will turn off after 30 seconds again on both AC and battery of course. stop confusing everyone.if you dont have nitro 5 model then just don't state facts based on this https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34903/~/acer-nitro-keyboard-backlight . tldr, the bug is in bios 1.22 which turns off kb light after 30 seconds even on AC power.

Did you even read what was in the link you posted?
"AC adapter power - The keyboard backlight default is ON."
If it was supposed to time out on AC power, don't you think one of the several people I've spoken to at Acer would have said that instead of offering to collect my laptop to see whats going on?
