ACER Swift SF314-54: Why does C: only show 500GB?

I just bought an ACER Swift SF314-54. It's supposed to have 1TB hard drive. I was about to make a partition, but when I go to Disk manager and Storage it states that I only have 500GB!!! (Whereof only 300GB is free even before I've started using the laptop).
It shows only 8MB as allocated, so it doesn't seem to be that there's any "spare" left.
What has happened here? Have I've been cheated and they only put in a 500GB drive? Or is there some errors where to laptop is missing out on that it has the double capacity?

I think you are lucky to have a an expensive SSD installed, you can install a larger HDD yourself but have to open up the back cover, you need to check with Acer support centre whether opening the back cover voids warranty, you may also have to buy the cable and the bracket to install the HDD. Can you check whether you have Intel Optane memory installed, whether there's IRST enabled in BIOS, go to BIOS, move to main tab and check.

Sorry for late reply. I was waiting four hours for the laptop to restart, (it's the first actual restart since I bought it). After four hours I gave up and just let it load during the night.
The Intel Optane Memory seems to be disabled, but in the BIOS it states SATA Mode: RST with Optane.

I don't think you have Optane memory installed, please install HWiNFO64 free program, run it, expand Drives and check the capacities in the right pane.

*****. I was afraid of that. Got well cheated then. Told the store that 1TB, as on my old laptop, is not enough really, but could be acceptable. And the specs he showed me was 1TB.
Is it easy to upgrade the hard drive on these Acers?0 -

Well I did pay to get the fast SDD. Put were told it was 1TB.
I'll check the link and I'll see what to do with this.
