Can i Wipe Windows and install Linux on my predator helio 300 g3-571 since i dont want to dual boot and after that if i clean install windows, will there be any issue with windows activation ? i read somewhere that the windows activation product key is stores in the motherboard and i won't have any issue regarding the same, i just want to confirm it

You would not have any kind of issues, but keep in mind that the version of windows activated would be the same as that came with your laptop. Example, if you upgraded from Home to Pro, it would still activate as Home. You would need to enter Pro key to convert it again to Pro.

Either Linux Mint 19 or Ubuntu 18.04, amongst other OSs, should work with the Acer Helios.
However, if the Helios is a very recent model then there may be certain driver problems until the Linux kernel catches up with support for particular hardware.

    Hi @arjunmanoj

Yes you can install Linux, how ever if your going to change the linux to another OS in future then you may face an issue. Right now you wont have any issue in switching from Win to Linux.

fyi:  if you have a spare 64Gb+ usb 3 stick around, and haven't got rid of windows yet, then its simple to make a portable, bootable full install of windows (activated) from windows and a downloaded .iso using a little program called win2usb so if you ever needed to briefly dip back into 10 again, you'd already have it ready to go on a bootable usb stick.

    Or a Virtual Machine :-)
Just don't forget to image the existing disk.
