The power jack was loose on this chromebook (which seems common on Acer chromebook) so I replaced it, but it still won’t power on. Thinking maybe a battery issue, but was told it should still show a charge light when plugged in even if the battery is dead. Maybe a motherboard issue? Help please!!!

Sounds like either a hardware issue or a failed power adapter. my CB3 has a 19vdc 45w adapter.

This may be an issue with either the port where the charger goes in or the charger itself. Try using a different charger to check if the computer turns on. If it doesn't then its a hardware issue. So then contact acer tech support for warranty support.

The port where the charger goes in is loose and will only charge if the chromebook is on its side and at a certain position.
Please help.  I am so disappointed

The clip seems to be the problem, inside the port is a small mechanism or a design method that holds the power strip, if there is a problem or damage in its holding position, this bounds to happen, I recommend a replacement for the drive.
