    location is set to high accuracy?

    are you connected to a network with data connection?

    can you download GPS test from google play and on settings, choose to delete A-GPS data and re-download A-GPS?

    Hi there,

    I got the same issue with GPS. Eventually, i was buying this phone because of the large screen, reasonably good camera, 3 sims, 3gB RAM as well as with hope that it will be easier to use it as GPS navigator compare to my 4.5" Lumia. Out of all these, only large screen and 3 sims did not disappoint me.

    1. it is relatively slow as for devise with 3GB of RAM;
    2. quality of the pictures isn’t that great as advertised. it is able to produce some good shots but ... not on the move... need to spend some time and make a few tries.
    3. GPS as well as Wi-Fi antennas are totally *****.
    • Wi-Fi signal is lower than in 5 different phones that i used to compare with from the same location and at the same time (Microsoft Lumia 640; 420 and 425, Alcatel OneTouch 2 and Meizu 2)
    • GPS - takes ages before it locks the satellite which is losing just on count 1-2-3; it is getting lost all the time; it not follows the road and often jumps to some side locations.
    • as an electronic engineer I can conclude that GPS receiver is ***** or there is some programme bug that not allows GPS receiver to communicate clearly with CPU.
    1. Setting phone to High Accuracy (means use Wi-Fi and 4G) is not changing situation. It might, if hardware wasn’t faulty and Wi-Fi /4G serve supporting function but, in our case they just trying to do all the job on behalf of the faulty GPS receiver which results in this instability on the road (it just getting locations from nearest Wi-Fi and 4G infrastructure but not from satellites.

    I had contacted ACER (still under warranty) while was in Australia (they did not take any action but advised to contact place where I bought phone from) and here in Thailand. In Thailand I did contact Acer three times.

    First time they advised to reset all to factory settings… obviously, it did not work.

    Second time they sent my device to ACER repair center where they simply 1) flashed device; 2) painted back cover…  after such repair GPS still not working;

    Third time …   just a day ago. Over the phone they reported some changes… possibly to antenna or its surrounding (some cover) and claimed that device was tested and passed all tests. After I left office I tried to use GPS to navigate back home….  And it did not work. The symptoms the same as described above. On contrary, Microsoft Lumia 640 GPS Navigation works just fine. Without any 3/4G and Wi-Fi offline mode) it locks on satellites within one minutes (sitting on my laps in the car while I am driving…  not from under the front window), it follows the road and it even give me some advices (free version) on when will be major changes in the rout…. It simply DOES the job well without any ***** about high accuracy.

    My warranty is still valid for next 6 months therefore I still have chance to keep bothering ACER until they fix it or replace with working device or refund…

    After all I paid 330$ to have this fun!

    I did not manage to get GPS of my ACER Liquid X2 work correctly.

    Even after repair center (according to them) replaced GPS antenna or some other things.

    As a solution... I gave up!

    I swop my ACER with Microsoft Lumia 950.

    GPS works as a dream...However, nor with native Maps but with Sygic. Eventually, the older Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE has also perfect GPS receiver

    Good for you. I believe this is a design flaw. I downloaded GPS Test and it is getting a gps signal from satellites, but too weak. Remove the back cover and touch the area near the camera and the GPS gets weaker.

    Hello Everyone! We haven’t heard from ACER Team yet... Are they reading this board? If so, please let us know what is going on.

    My Lumia 640 and then Lumia 950 (before also HTC HD2) do not need any Wi-Fi or Cellular Data (bull High Accuracy) for GPS to work correct. That's why we got 'Offline" mode and that's how Sygic, Garmin and others are working .... offline

    Are there any chance GPS will be working in this phone?

    Recently I had chance to check about 12 Acer Liquid X2 phones and all are working in the same way ...  no exception...GPS is not working as it meant to be.

    I just wondering how possible that bunch of the engineers who were working on this phone did not even test GPS ... what a shame... ACER needs to fire all those for miss performance and sabotage...

    By the way…. anyone got any progress on it?

    Thanks!

    I save myself from frustration and headache. I sold my Liquid X2 and bought a Samsung Galaxy J7.

    Hello everyone,

    I'm sorry for the issues you're having with your Liquid X2.  If the problem continues after reinstalling the operating system, the unit might have a hardware issue.  Please contact your local Support Organization for information on how to set up the unit for repair.

    Thanks,

    Same problem, my E700 is so much better inlots of ways, than my X2.
    Wondering if any engineers codes might work, or stick a signal strength booster in my phone, if they acctually do anything?

    Same problem with Z630S ..gps is very poor and terribly slow, lost satellites. No no, bad experiences i buy used phone from my friends ( Huawei P8 Lite 2017 ) ..in a second it finds more satellites than one hour with the Z630S, google maps now work ok. Bye bye Acer phone.
