I was wondering if it was possible to connect the Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop, 15.6" Full HD, Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD, GeForce GTX 1060-6GB, VR Ready, Red Backlit KB, Metal Chassis, G3-571-77QK with a external monitor with a 120 or 144 hertz display?

    Any monitor should work
G-sync option won't work, because it is not supported through HDMI.

I have the exact same question. I tried to connect using an HDMI to VGA cable but the laptop did not detect it.

    ??

UPDATE: I used my old VGA to VGA cable and added an HDMI to VGA converter to it and it works.
Unfortunately, the monitor does not have speakers and the HDMI to VGA converter seems to try to pass the volume to the monitor. I will try a different solution and report back.

HDMI will surely use both audio and video outputs whereas your VGA converter cannot deploy audio. You can surpass this by using a speaker or some sort externally and then change your computer settings to output the speakers. Since your laptop won't be portable when you connect it to a monitor, why not use a speaker or sound system to enjoy it better?

    Hi all,

Just to put this topic to rest. I have achieved 144HZ via HDMI to HDMI high speed cable.

    Monitor being the LG24GM79.

Do yourself a favour with this amazing laptop And go 144!

Other community members and myself compiled a list of external monitors that work via hdmi outputting high hz.

Keep in mind that a monitor manufactuer CAN limit the hz level of a monitor output on hdmi and they *usually* do if that same monitor has a display port.

The monitors in this list have been tested however and found to work over hdmi.

I downloaded the Intel Driver and Support Assistant. It scanned my computer and I was able to download the current graphics driver. This resolved the issue
