Good start, reduce the undervolt to the point of stability.  Personally I'll back off another 10% to ensure stability; -100mV, -150mV makes a difference 5 or 10 mV very less.

The odd thing why i stuck with this unit over the other unit when i ordered a replacement was this unit ran cooler at the time under a stress test. Its like the thermal paste got worse with time.  Ill see if i can find a original stress test i ran

Thermal paste don't deteriorate this bad this soon. I have multiple laptops sitting at home that are a few years old and still with the original paste. I never re-pasted any of them. If this ran cooler before, like a couple weeks before, and not now... something else is wrong.

Can you please open your windows services, and take a screenshot/list of all services that are "running".

I lowerd some of the OC and it seems to be running alot cooler. The only thing changed is the location i went from my living room to my bedroom and its not even hitting 75c

Shouldn't the Speed Shift and Set Multiplier boxes be checked in your Throttlestop app?  If you don't set the multiplier, won't it exceed your cap and push you deep into Turbo?  I'm just spitballing.

Should I just send it in for repair and hopefully they will put good paste on it

That would put you past your return window... as long as you are fine with this, you could take the risk.

There is no local stores near me at all. I live in rural PA about 3 hours from a Major City like Pittsburgh.
Someone may have said something similar, but is the St. Davids Microcenter not close to you?  I bought my Predator from one and they have a store in PA.

I can see that you have reduced the Turbo Ratio Limits by a factor of 2 with -125mV undervolt, this will have a big impact, as the closer to maximum turbo frequency the CPU is the power draw is exponentially higher with associated heating.  This may be your best set up with this notebook on the CPU side.

Reset the Intel GPU to default as it has no impact here as the G9-793 only uses the Nvidia GPU.

They emailed me back with 3 options
    1. Over night me a new unit
    2. Keep the same unit with 30% off
    3. Full Refund

Only issue I have with a refund is I have a $350 ssd drive and $200 worth of laptop memory I bought with It along with a $75 bag that it would fit in .they are all outside the return window

I'd opt for the 30% off then have the CPU/GPU repasted with quality TIM, likely work out to be a great deal.  Refund; the bag and SSD you can repurpose, the RAM not so much as it's generally better to have matched pairs.

Well if I keep it and take the 30% I can keep the ssd and ram and bag since I will need It .but would have to send it in to be repsted for 2 weeks

SSD, RAM and bag can be repurposed. It would be a nice deal at 30% off... but then the associated repasting and such... it would totally your call here. Instead of waiting for 2 weeks, it might actually work out to take a day's trip and get it done while you are there (after talking to them prior and setting up an appointment).

Ya im not sure how that works if i am allowed to drive there i am more than willing to do so my cousin lives in the area then i can probably bring my own thermal paste or buy some there. So they dont put cheap ***** on it and run a stress test while i am there to make sure the issue is corrected. I am making sure they will credit my card and not just a credit on amazon first. but i think thats the route i am going to take.

Personally, I would recommend what you just said - wait until our credit card is issued a refund. And then get it done personally.

Acer will replace the same paste as that's the process their techs/representatives must follow.  Better to take it to a competent local shop with the thermal paste you want to be applied.

30% is a nice reduction, allows you to stick to your original plan, although the new 8th Gen hex core CPU's are more performant the quad core i7 7700HQ remains to be more than capable for the vast majority or people.

TBH as long as the notebook is stable does what you want it to at a reasonable temperature I'd be inclined to leave it as it is.  You can create a profile in ThrottleStop with undervolt and reduced Turbo Ratio Limits, if averaging 75C is a good as it's likely to get with the Predator 17 without undervolting the GPU.

Anything with 1060 and up should support VR.
