From past 2 month, (Laptop is 8 months old), 1-3-t-u & p keys on keyboard are not working properly, sometimes they work, sometimes I have to stroke it multiple times to register.

This is not related to software as tried on Windows 10, Ubuntu, etc. External Keyboard works fine.

Please suggest.

    Hi @su4232

Please check if you have performed these troubleshooting steps.
    - Start by checking if your keyboard layout is set to United States.
    - If this will not work uninstall/reinstall the keyboard driver.
    - Open Device Manager, right click on the keyboard driver and select Uninstall.
    - Reboot your laptop once uninstalled and it should reinstall the driver automatically upon reboot.
    - Do test it again after the reboot and see if the problem has been resolved.
    - If it doesn't work connect and external USB keyboard then test it and see if it will work normally or not.
    - If it does work that could mean that the built in keyboard was damaged.
    - Your last option if it works normally using an external keyboard is to do a factory reset.
    - If factory reset will also not work that means the built in keyboard is damaged.

Since External Keyboard works fine, this could be an internal hardware issue with the keyboard. You may need to contact Acer support in your region to get the keyboard replaced under warranty.

Thanks. All things you have mentioned, I have already tried it.

The real question here is, lot of other folks have also mentioned the same issues happening. Does this indicate the Keyboards are of crappy quality.

This creates a question over Acer QC, I have owned several laptops from Dell, Lenovo, etc. and Apple but never had issue like this.
I am not expecting Apple level quality in this price range, but still this is a big gap.

I'm experiencing the same problem for the last 4 days. I'm EXTREMELY gentle on my keyboard.I use external wireless keyboard when I type in MS Word or send emails. I STRONGLY believe this is a software issue.

It looks like commonly occurring issue, my service center directly ordered keyboard without even checking after I described them the problem.

I am disappointed in Acer Quality Control.

I have been recently having these issues as well, however I do not have a warranty. Is it still worth to contact Acer?

Guys, I randomly got the keyboard to work... I've been facing this problem for a long time now and I was really annoyed by it... At first the Acer Support kept dodging and not giving me the way to continue... and once my warranty was up, they told me to update my warranty information... But now they were asking me to pay 5.5k for the keyboard to be replaced which would take em more than 2 to 3 weeks to order... I got annoyed and idk why I randomly thought that I should check for updates...

    The Solution:
For SOME dumb reason... I removed acer quick access (by Mistake) and then thought I should install it again...

All of a sudden my keyboard started working... this is even though it hadn't worked will all the device manager bullcrap (that might have helped a lot of people but certainly didn't help me)

I have a Switch 7 Black edition, same stuff happening to me, how disappointing, p coming up not right, other like random things, then randomly just going back to normal, and no I am not pushing a change key. Returned first one that did same thing, then this new one started to.
Acer must have some serious keyboard issues, this needs fixed.

Doesn't seem like removing QA would solve this, not really connected to keyboard in any specific way. Did it stay resolved? Mine seems like an actual hardware keyboard problem, have heard electric type sounds from it, and seems to happen after first time having any actual movable use of keyboard, as using it on lap, just normal different moving it situations, that by the way, is what you would want a keyboard like this for.

I had the same problem on Acer Switf-314 for some weeks (I just had the laptop for only 2 months). The customer service told me to open the safe mode and try these keys. While they were safe and sound. It works temporarily, but I don't know if the issues be solved.

I would not think simply trying it in safe mode would fix a keyboard hardware situation.

Is there still no solution from Acer for this Problem? I have the same issue on my A515-51G (Bought in January 2018). But I don't want to send it to Acer Repair Center again. It was there the last month, I got a new Display.
I recognised the keyboard problem the first time a few weeks ago. But currently it is really annoying using the keyboard. In my special case I think the letters t, u, p, j and the 5 (in the number pad) are affected. Sometimes the keys work perfectly, but then they stop working for a few seconds. And after that they work as though nothing had happened.

Did anyone send the laptop to Acer and is satisfied with the result (new keyboard or the like)?

Not resolves as of yet. Does seem focused on those uiopjkl and number keys, just comes then goes. This is weird, not a good thing to be happening to a 1600 dollar computer. I believe it to be a keyboard hardware issue of some sort, f1 to fix it instead of waiting for it to come on its own. Plus it will delete back when typing sometimes

I sent mine back for a whole new PC, and the exact thing happened again. I believe a lot of people just put up with it, or think it is not the companies fault. But I am certain it is a flaw within the keyboard. We should all write BBB, I am, this is real bad, they would not take it back a second time, just said send it to us to fiddle with it, yeah like I want that, as if it would fix it after I got a whole new one, and same thing happened. Plus it would possibly come back damaged. As it is a keyboard hardware issue, they can't get into that to fix it. Want my money back if they can not fix keyboard and send me one.

I read something like this on another site. Really bad, and I don't know if it makes sense for me to contact Acer, just to get a new keyboard and have the same problem again in a few days or months...
