Acer F5-573G-54WE, yellow exclamation mark on the Nvidia GPU

hi guys!
so i bought this laptop last week, but i have a problem with the GPU. When i go in device manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark on the Nvidia 940MX device, and in the properties there is this message: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
i tried everything i could find, but no luck. I've updated my bios to the last one, the 1.27 version, and i tried to install the most recent Nvidia driver and the one provided by acer (found here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6739?b=1) but the problem is still here.
I hope you guys can help me

    Update:
    So i installed the driver from the acer support site and the yellow exclamation mark was still there. So i tried to update to the driver version 388.71, the most recent one. now in device manager instead of the 940MX i have Microsoft Basic Display Adapter with the usual warning sign, and in the properties there is: "the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)    The driver trying to start is not the same as the driver for the POSTed display adapter."

    Hi, and thank you again!
    Yes i have GeForce Experience installed, but I've read somewhere that maybe it was that application to create the problem, so i also tried to install only the driver but it's the same. I've tried Ubuntu and the gpu seems to be fine, even though it's identified as a GeForce 940m instead of 940mx, the update software finds the driver and install them. I'm out of ideas now. Sunday I'll try to do a clean installation of windows.
    Do you have any idea of how long it would take if i send the laptop in maintenance? Because i use it a lot for college

    It  depends on the Acer service centre in your country, please contact them by phone and ask them about time they may take to fix the problem.

    By the way, have tried uninstalling GeForce Experience? If not give that a try.

    hi,
    i just did a factory reset as you suggested, but it didn't solve the problem.
    Now I am using the windows10startfresh tool to see if i'll get some luck. If it doesn't work i will send the laptop back.

    No, not good enough! You should do a full factory-fresh reset from the hidden ACER recovery partition on the HDD as shown in this video. This is done completely outside of the Win10 operating system. It's the only definitive way to confirm a hardware issue.

    yes, i've already done it. Same as the video except the last step, in which i chose to fully clean the drive. I'm so confused now...the gpu seemed to work on ubuntu :confused:

    If you get still get the Device Mgr warning after a full reset, it's highly unlikely Ubuntu will work again either. 8^( But hey, it might be worth  re-installing and see. If Ubuntu does make it work, then you can forget Win10 altogether. You'll be a hero --- at least mine anyway! 8^) Jack E/NJ

    Yeah now I'm a bit used to ubuntu because my previous laptop was really slow on windows. But since i buyed this one tto be able to play sometimes with it, the gpu needs to work in windows
    Now I'm done, I've tried everything. Thank you guys for the help :smile:

    Zenak does your GPU works on Ubuntu? , I have the same problem as you , I was thinking if the gpu might be dead.
