Left Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S not working in Photoshop (but RIGHT Ctrl works)

So I just got my Acer Predator 15, and set it up and it has been pretty good so far, but while working in Photoshop, I wanted to use the common keyboard shortcut "Ctrl-Alt-Shft-S" to export an image.  And it did nothing.  But when I use the RIGHT Ctrl instead of the LEFT Ctrl, it works.

Any ideas on why this is? It's going to drive me nuts since I have 18 years of muscle memory using the LEFT Ctrl for this shortcut.

Thanks!

Have you checked if left Ctrl works with other keys combinations?

    like

    Ctrl - a

    Ctrl - x

    and so on

you can also check with an online keyboard test:

Yea, left Ctrl works totally fine otherwise. Just not with a 4-key combination

Actually, when looking at the online keyboard test, it seems to work with Left Ctrl-Alt-Shift-[letter] EXCEPT the S key.

    Any ideas??

so 4 keys works but not using "s"

can you please try using an external USB keyboard?

apart an hardware issue, i can't think to any other issue to be honest; neither a keyboard controller issue; if your device is under warranty, i would give a call to Acer support service (not sure they will be able to help you without sending the laptop)

yea but using the RIGHT Ctrl (+ Shift + Alt) works on ALL keys, including the S key.  So I can't see how it's a hardware issue.....?

My laptop arrived YESTERDAY so it's still under warranty......

Playing around a bit with that website, and trying different key combinations, it looks like it's actually Left Ctrl+Alt+S that doesn't work.

Could it be that THAT combination hotkey is mapped to something else by default with the Predator??

Argh! Well, I do appreciate your help.

I'm trying to think of any other software I have that would need Ctrl+Alt+S.....

to narrow a little, you can try a live USB Ubuntu drive and check if your keyboards works or not (using the same keyboard test website).

download the x64 version and use Rufus to create a bootable USB flash drive, using the same settings as on Rufus website screenshot.

I used SHIFT + CTRL + ALT + S instead of starting with CTRL.

Tried via external + laptop keyboard - both worked... when I used SHIFT first.

Edit: ALT CTRL SHIFT S too worked.
