It is understandable when someone has an issue, they post it, but i'm wondering if there is anyone on here that has one of these monitors that has had no issues?

Honestly, my experience is pretty positive.  I have one issue (http://community.acer.com/t5/Predator-Discussions/Predator-X34-backlight-issues-resuming-from-sleep/m-p/390282#M1133)

Other than that, the screen is beautiful and the only issue I'm having isn't impacting my enjoyment much.  It only happens in certain cases and restarting the screen fixes it.  That said, it's unaccpetable to spend $1300 on a monitor and have it delivered in anything but perfect condition.

So far Acer is acknowledging and being responsive on this forum with regard to these issues so I am looking forward to a quick and painless resolution.  How they handle the issues people are bringing up will be a big part of how much I enjoy the monitor and my respect for Acer in terms of customer service.

I'm currently awaiting UK stock which is due this Friday.  However, there have already been several delays so I wouldn't be surprised if it slips again by another couple of weeks.  I guess Acer are trying to rectify issues with firmware updates and putting these onto the UK stock before they go out to customers here, and/or pulling some of the stock to send to other economic areas where the monitors are already available and RMAs are happening.

I will certainly post here with my experience as soon as I can, and I'm hoping it will be a positive one Smiley Happy

Day 3 and still everything is great.   Even the little back light bleed in the bottom left seems to have almost completely disappeared.  There is still a little ips glow.

Day 2 for me, again no issues with the monitor, although.... this morning turning the monitor on BEFORE turning my PC on, I experienced the right-side half of the monitor lighting up with the left side remaining 'normal'.  After I turned my computer on and the DP got a signal, it all went back to normal again.  Very odd issue indeed.

Day 3 here. The display is big and beautiful gaming is awesome. The only issue is the backlight, simple to fix, a quick firmware upgrade would make this display perfect. The joy of being an early adopter, a shame the early reviewers didn't see it like the blue banding issue or it would have been fixed.

As I posted in the other thread, I -think- I may have discovered the setting that's causing the half-backlight problem.  Try this:

    1. Go to the OSD menu
    2. Go to the 4th icon down "Setting" (looks like a spanner)
    3. Go to "Deep Sleep"
    4. Turn OFF "DP Deep Sleep" and "HDMI Deep Sleep"
    5. Test with windows power settings to turn off the monitor after x minutes and waking it up again after the display completely goes into standby

I've not had it happen yet after disabling this "deep sleep" setting.

Hi just wanted to make  a post about my own personal experience so far.

My Monitor arrived yesterday from uk.

unpacked everything and set it up on my desk

my desk is 65cm in length so it's a bit of a tight fit but the screen does fit on a fairly small desk.

stand is aprox 32cm in length for anyone wondering.

So plugged in all the component cables dp cable, power cable etc

took a quick overlook of the screen well packaged no dust, marks, scratches,

fired up pc and everything came up online as should (no dead pixels)

initially i  went in switched on the gsync feature in my gcard and i turned off vsync.

went to monitor setup and did not see any selection for higher than 60Hz

so took a look into the menu system

took a few mins to get ysed to it but really it is not that much of a big deal to get your head around.

set my panel to 100hz in the menu.

    monitor took a reboot.

came back up went back into control panel selected 100Hz

    all working great no flickering,

    no strange noises,

checked for any backlight bleed or bad glow issues people have reported a lot,

and i have to say there is a tiny amount of glow near top left corner aside this

the monitor backlight is great no strange yellow glow or any other problems.

ran up some games and in some of my steam games tf2,cs etc. i can select the res 3440x1440

and my fps was like 280 with my 980TI gcard

all games seem to be running really smooth and well

i ran up batman Arkham Knight set it up turned off vsync and ran it at max

and it ran so smooth and the game looked amazing

this was when i really appreciated how good the screen was and how amazing the games looked,

my initial experience has been great i had a lot of doubts and have been reading peoples posts for quite some time now.

but for me it was quite effortless to setup. calibrate and get gaming,

and i have come from an Acer monitor prior to this one it was like 7yrs old

and i have never had a days issue with it.

prehaps i got lucky with the monitor lottery but i am really happy with my purchase.

    build quality is great,

i hope it stays stable in a few weeks time i guess i will see if any issues start occuring

as for the stand well the stand is solid enough but it is probably my only real negative about this Monitor.

just due to the length of the stand legs on smaller desks.

overall very happy with my purchase.

Just one more thing i forgot to mention

i turned off the deep sleep option yesterday on setup after reading this forum.

and i booted up and shutdown several times yesterday and this morning,

and i can say for me anyway my screen does not suffer the issue of half

of the screen not lighting up.

if that changes i will post back

    thanks.

This is very well said!  I also have the WFS (wake from sleep) issue and it is my ONLY issue!  This monitor is FANTASTIC!!! Truely THE BEST GAMING MONITOR on the market right now! as Xijio said, how ACER responds to this will determine how customers view ACER.  I honestly believe the WFS problem is a firmware issue.  I  even went as far as to think it may be an issue with the power brick...I just hope it is resolve.  Conversely, Linus did  his review and of course ACER gave him a perfect monitor:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_GXkjPAkDw

I've noticed that as well. Before, I had a lot of bleed at the upper left.  But the more I used the monitor  it has slowly dissipated.  Everything looks so smooth. Esp when you use TFT settings.

@Locoz - all the details should be here:  http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm

Check the page "Install  and Activate an ICC Profile"

As well as finding the profile itself in the list on the first link.

First post.. logged in just to answer this thread as I'm one of the positive experiences.

Had my x34 for over a week now and am only suffering from backlight bleed in the corners as many others are. In my case i'd say that its not too extreme, and over time seems to have gotten lessened somewhat after usage.

I imagin if I turned down my brightness in the OSD it would be far less as well, but truly it doesn't effect me that much.. I barely notice it 95% of the time.

Any other issues that have been reported with this particular monitor I have not experienced.

    No Waking issues from sleep

No color shift or flicker when overclocking

No scanlines when using overdrive (have tried all settings)

Able to Overclock to 100hz straight away

No whine when looking at full white screen (tested this on first day)

    Zero dead pixels

Gsync working totally fine. just had to test with a variety of drivers as some work better than others.

I'm super happy with this display.. if not for the bit of BLB I do have, I'd say I have a perfect specimen.. which I'm very thankful for Smiley Happy

I have no issues.  No issues waking up from sleep.  No bleeding.  No monitor whine at full screen.  The 2 interesting things are that I had bleed in the top left corner initially (nothing worth returning the monitor for) and I had monitor whine with Notepad at full screen and IfranView (and IfranView is set to black background), and only those 2 apps (not in excel, not in chrome, not in games, etc) but it doesn't exist now.

I did move the sound from going to the monitor and now just have it going to speakers via onboard sound, I also updated the Nvidia drivers to 358.87.  not sure if these played a roll in the issues I was having at first.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with the monitor.

I had a device with the blue color banding problem. But Acer Germany was relatively swift in applying the firmware fix (got my monitor back in 5 work days).

What's still left is the Wake-From-Sleep backlight problem and I also have the scanlines in the pendulum demo. But I wouldn't have spotted them myself if I haven't been made aware of them. They are very faint - so I can live with them for the moment being. I'm waiting on further developments on that issue so I can send my device back in for a second repair within the warranty period.

Overall I still feel positive about this monitor - also considering that my last monitor was a 10 year old 24" which still had a cold cathode back light.
