Did it also say "Something Happened"?

If it  said, "Something Happened", I've had that bug several times....I just restarted my computer and downloaded the tool again.....and tried again....and it always worked. Sometimes I had to reboot more than once.

Since you've never upgraded to Windows 10, when  you run the tool, you must choose "Upgrade this PC now"

If it didn't say "Something Happened", it could be a more serious problem with your computer that might require you to find the right "fixit" from Microsoft or in a worst case, backup your files and reset your PC to factory defaults....and start completely over.

Either way, I would start by restarting my computer and download tool again.....and try again.

it's a proxy error on your laptop internet settings or something on the network you are connected or your antivirus that's blocking the connection (uninstall McAfee or AVG if you have it installed)

Yes, that is because of my office proxy. I have tried without proxy and it is success. Now I am using Windows 10 running well. Thanks for your advice n support.
