Hello,

My laptop didn't come with any OS installed. Now I'm running Windows 10 and I have Bios v1.13. Can I update to the latest version (2.21) ?

    you can't mix BIOS versions.

BIOS 1.x can be updated only using BIOS 1.x version

BIOS 1.x can be updated only using BIOS 1.x version

so you have already the latest available for your laptop.

Thank you for your reply. I have another question: Can I reflash the same version of the BIOS?

You can flash and upgrade Insyde Legacy Bios to UEFI on V3-571G, here is how its done and it works 100%, I've done this to my V3-571G and it works perfectly but, you have to reinstall Windows 10 to get the perfect result, as converting your legacy HDD format to UEFI after BIOS change is very tedious and its easier to just do a clean install of either Windows 8, 8.1 or 10.

    Here are the steps:

This is for BIOS - UEFI for Windows 8 (Not for 8 Upgrades)

The UEFI BIOS (e.g. v2.xx) enables the UEFI BOOT ENVIRONMENT, which has many benefits, see benefits of UEFI BIOS.

          a. Laptops with Windows 7 pre-installed have a normal BIOS (e.g. v1.xx) .

          b. Laptops with Windows 8 pre-installed have UEFI (e,g, 2.xx)

This guide is oriented to all laptops that have Windows 7 (Legacy BIOS)

    Here are the instructions:

    1. Open your xxxxx.exe (which is the windows BIOS flash) with your favourite 'hex editor'.

    2. In 'hex editor' go to search and find the string: DisableSecureCapsuleFlash=1

    3. Then, change the string to: DisableSecureCapsuleFlash=0

    4. Save it

    5. Flash it normally

    6. After rebooting, you will find a new option in the Boot tab called 'UEFI '

    7. Switch between Legacy Boot and UEFI (see caption below)
