V5-573G Windows 10 FN+F3 suddenly not working

I have upgraded to Windows 10 few days ago and everything was fine, but now for some reason FN+F3 suddenly has stopped working. It used to turn on/off flight mode(disabling/enabling wifi & bluetooth) but now it does nothing. Funny thing is every other FN key shortcut seems to be working. Tested every other key(from FN+F4 to FN+F9 and FN+up/down/left/right and fn+home/pgup/pgdn/end) and they all work fine. Only FN+F3 doesn't and I don't know why. Does anyone have any idea why FN+F3 stopped working? Been reading lots of threads about this subject but nothing was helpful.

From other topics people suggested to do several things. This is what I've done so far:

1. Update BIOS - It was updated already but just to be sure I updated it once again and nothing changed.

2. Update Intel bluetooth/wireless drivers - both have been updated and nothing has changed

3. Install Launch Manager - it is not available for my laptop. I tried to download it anyway, just from different place, but upon installation a message appeared with information that it doesn't support Windows 10. And so I was unable to install it.

4. Delete all the network from manage wireless network window - I don't know how to do this one and it doesn't sound safe anyway.

Any other ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. Acer launch manager cannot be installed on Windows 10, so you can't disable BT/WiFi.

Also there are no indicators of capslock, numlock etc... it's kind of dissapointing that installation does not support windows 10, while it works just fine on windows 10.

If you update from Windows 8 with launch manager installed, launch manager will stay and work fine. But cannot be installed on clean windows 10 installation.

ACER please give us luanch manager installation without OS version check!

Decided to switch back to Windows 8.1. Installed drivers from acer CD and Launch Manager from acer downloa page and now FN+F3 works fine again. Please Acer, give us updated apps and drivers for Windows 10, because for the time being the entire OS, while very interesting, is not really usable and has lots of problems*.

    * Problems I have faced during several days:

    - Launch Manager doesn't want to install, so FN+F3 doesn't work.

    - Sound stutters and you can hear cracks.

    - Boot, sleep/wake and shutdown problems.

    - Windows 10 is slow and it's very easy to break file system.

Instalation works, but unfortunately Launch Manager itself is not working (FN+F3 and etc. does, but no visual indication for any of these hotkeys or caps/num/scroll lock keys).

    Tried versions 8.00.8105, 8.00.8111, 8.00.116.

Anybody found working version? If we cooperate we may be able to find working version and pair it with this installer for awesome and working Launch Manager on Windows 10.

@LordBoos: I never had visual indicators except for Fn+F3 on W8.1. On W10 Fn+F3 gives visual feedback after using for instance Fn+F8.

I btw stick with version .8105 because any higher one loses NumLock after sleep or hibernation.

I've had visual indicators for everything on Win 8.1 and even on Win 10 after upgrading from 8.1. But after clean Win 10 install I lost this feature. Smiley Sad

Can you provide installer without Windows version check for Launch Manager v7_7.00.3008? It does not work with that you posted above.

I've found that there are some extra files named like numlock, capslock etc in this older version. So maybe I had v7 before?

    Huh?

'When pressing the Num Lock or Caps Lock on your keyboard, there is no notification to indicate the status. The on-screen indicators for Num Lock and Caps Lock are not available in Windows 8.

Instead, it is possible to activate a beep signal when the key is pressed:'

    Acer-Ryan:

'This has to do with the "Windows 8 UI" as it does not allow for overlaying notifications.'

And I don't have another setup file, sorry.

    LordBoos,

If you still have the Acer Recovery Management app installed would you try to install the Acer Launch Manager from the reinstall applications and drivers section?

This thread came up as one of the First hits when I Googled FN+F3 not shutting down wireless.

While I don't condone thread necromancy - I do have a solution that's just worked for me.

Download Launch Manager from the Windows 8 Applications and unzip it.

Before you double click the setup file right click and select properties.

Under the Compatability Tab - Select Use compatability mode for Windows 8

    Click Ok

Install away. and reboot the PC once the install is complete

FN+F3 should now work as advertised.  Most of the overlays should also be visible, although I note I can's see a Caps Lock or Num Lock overlay.  They do still work though.

    HTH
