hadnt used my iconia in a while so about 2 weeks ago i plugged it in to fire it up. found out my battery wouldnt chrage, but it would still run when plugged in. used it on and off for the 2 weeks to watch some movies while it was plugged into my tv at home. just brought it to work today to see if i could trouble shoot the battery issue, and when i plugged it in to turn it on, i just get a white screen. the power button flashes ornage, sometimes changing to a flashing blue for 5 or so seconds. ive tried unplugging it and starting over, ive tried restarting it by holding down the power button, ive even tried a hard reset by holding down the reset button next to the microSD slot. nothing has gotten it off of this screen. i see no boot up screen, it just goes directly to white.

anyone think they can hel me with this?

Well, I would start by pressing the reset button that is next to the microSD card slot.

However I suspect that the battery may have failed short and is dragging down the power supply below what is necessary for the machine to boot. If it were here I'd build a jumper that allowed me to monitor the 12v supply.

In that case the next question would be whether it is still under warrenty ? If so I would send to Acer. If not the next step is to split the case.

not sure if its still under warranty or not. doubt it. how would one crack open the case. is it just a pry off type of deal or is there a trick to it?
