Aspire 3830TG Black Screen

I am experiencing the same frustration. I bought my Aspire Notebook (3830TG) June 2, 2012. Saturday, December 14, 2013, my screen went black. At first I assumed the battery had died but that would have been odd since the computer should have been fully charged. When I took it in to Staples to have it checked, I was informed the motherboard had failed. So here I am 18 months after buying my identical new Acer to replace one that was stolen during a break-in (it was also only 20 months old). Trying to find contact information for Acer to ask about whether this is a general problem has been frustrating. Have yet to find the simple 'contact us' button on this website. Suggestions?

Since you are in Canada, please go to this page:

Sorry I only have the ones for Asia Malaysia which I obtained after having faxed them my complaint when I first encountered problems with their product. Luckily for me, the e-mail was still valid when I had the next problem. Anyway, try ama_acercare@acer.com and see if they'll assist to forward your complaint. Be prepared to wait.

Honestly, think twice when it's Acer...

No, ivan, the OP is in Canada.

That will not work for them, as I've already posted above with the proper contact channel.

On the possibility that the fried MB diagnosis was incorrect, have you tried to HDMI or VGA out to a TV or other monitor along with toggling the F5 or F6 keys to confirm that your video adaptor is dead?
