Can't access Nitrosense advanced settings or RGB, VBIOS changed after repair on AN16-42-R2EC

Hello people. I've known since the warranty repair that I couldn't properly access NitroSense features due to VBIOS issues.

You see from multiple technicians and pages I read that could be related to the VBIOS on my dGPU but issues is I have no idea what was the VBIOS before the warranty repair.

I'll send a picture how my NitroSense looks like

(To note: This only happens with few tabs like Advanced settings. I can't edit keyboard RGB lightning,or use Acer Harmony Sound feature)

And as much as that didn't concern me because the performance was the same,I am kinda curious is there truly something I could do about it?

And here's a screenshot of GPU-Z data about VBIOS and regarding info.

As much as I tried to look up that VBIOS I couldn't find any matches at all.
So any help would be appreciated guys.

The bios of your Nitro AN16-42 RTX4070 notebook gpu shown above should not be updated if Acer DOES NOT have a firmware update for the AN16-42 model in the Acer Drivers and Manuals support page for the NVIDIA RTX4070 notebook gpu, which it hasn't, so DO NOT update to any new bios version, leave the Acer oem BIOS to the existing version 95.06.33.00.0F, as and if you try to update this bios, you will brick your RTX4070 gpu.

If the Nitro Sense doesn't work like in the caption above, insist that Acer Tech Support in your country fixes this issue, as this is a common problem with this Acer app and the Nitro laptops. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Note: DO NOT update to the available NVIDIA RTX4070 and the RTX4080 firmware with the NVIDIA_UEFI_Firmware_Updater_1.2-x64 tool that fixes the "graphics cards in certain motherboards that are in UEFI mode could experience blank screens on boot until the OS loads. This update should only be applied if blank screens are occurring on boot" as you will brick your Nitro AN16-42 laptops RTX4070 gpu as this update is not for a laptop, as if that happens, the Acer 12 months standard warranty and/or any Acer extended warranty will be voided, so be aware of all this.

Did you try to uninstall NitroSense fully (including NitroSense and NitroSense config) and reinstall afterward?

Yeah I did. And did more than once. Results never changed.

At this point if there's only one thing I am missing is RGB but I think OpenRGB can fix it basically.

Trust me I didn't even thinked about NVIDIA UEFI Firmware updater or something else. I just asked if there was something I could do or not. Thanks in advance though.

But you said about not updating the bios. I assume you meant VBIOS? Because right now I am using 1.26v BIOS while there is existent 1.29v but I was and still am kinda afraid to update in case if it will perform worse or won't boot at all.

To note that I don't update BIOS frequently because "new ≠ better" at much times.

You can try to backup all the important data and reset Windows using Reset this PC function.

Came to add that the "mode button" doesn't work.

It just switches beetween normal and turbo. I can't turn on any other mode. (Despite the mod key switch behavior set on mode cycle switching,and NOT turbo off/on)
As well as can't switch to Eco mode when on battery.

I legit tried and looked on forums if there was anything I could do with Nitrosense. I do know that older models don't get any update for some reason,and of course if you'll try to install Nitrosense from other (more new model) it won't install at all.

Regarding if this "started recently" I tell you no. It started since the moment I got my laptop back on the hands. And in fact my keyboard is RGB and not just a single color mode because before the repair I could do anything to it. Put it on the "wave" mode,pulse,manage the parts of the keyboard to emit it's own light basically everything.

I can however update BIOS and hope it could fix something,but I am afraid the new BIOS that i'll update to will ruin things if not let it stay the same. (I am using 1.26v BIOS version rn)

WrkIUp, I've been using either NitroSense or PredatorSense since 2019 on Acer laptops and fortunately the only problem I've had is with NitroSense on my 2021 Nitro 5 AN515-56 laptop that after a clean install of Win-11, I had to install this software within its NitroSenseV3.1 folder and it installed 100% and perfectly.

Try and install NitroSense through and within its Setup folder internally in your Nitro AN16-42 NitroSense version 5.0.1452 and see if it will install that way successfully, as that could be a way to install this software. Otherwise I have no solutions that I can add to help you. But you should update your AN16-41 bios to the last version 1.29 as it does have an EC chip update and other improvements that could assist the NS to install. UPD: Updated BIOS to v1.27 and nothing changed. Nitrosense didn't change at all. BIOS and the system still can't recognize laptop model at all.

I do want to remind that my laptop was covered by warranty repair and the system could recognize the model instantly and in BIOS too (before the warranty repair)

Well..as long as it works I am not complaining I guess..
