Hi! My Acer switch alpha 12 screen is popping out again after a free battery replacement by Acer about 4 years ago even though it was out of warranty. Just wondering if others have suggestions now, because while I am running windows 11 on it fine, I think I want to just find the cheapest option maybe to just remove the battery and use it that way. Would Acer be able to support this device now? Or I should find a local repair shop? Thanks.

It would help if you told us the exact model number of your Acer Switch Alpha 12, is it the model SA5-271, as I don't know how you are running Win-11 on a 4+ years old tablet that has an Intel Core i3 (6th Gen) 6100U / 2.3 GHz cpu and Intel HD Graphics 520 and only 4GB LPDDR3 SDRAM?

But anyway, if you want a battery replacement, I suggest that you take your tablet to a local mobile phone tech that changes batteries as they would be able to do this job Easley and much cheaper than Acer tech support.

This is the SA5-271 battery listed by Acer in its service guid, so try and get this battery on eBay and supply a local tech with your tablet and battery so they can replace it.

Phone repair shop than a computer repair shop??

It's the i7 6th gen variant. I thought by default they all had 8GB ram same as mine? Well there was an Verge article on how to tweak registry to allow upgrade, since Acer was future proofing this device with TPU etc to meet all windows 11 requirements but the weird processor generation requirement - it runs faster than some newer gen processors.

Yes, as a "Phone repair shop than a computer repair shop??" has the tools to open these fixed tables as they are the same as an iPads or smartphones and they do those all the time, and changing a battery is a pretty simple process.

If your Aspire SA5-271 was released by Acer with the Microsoft® Windows® 10 64-bit OS, and as your version has the i7-6500U cpu and the 8GB LPDDR3 SDRAM soldered internal ram, and if you have updated it to Win-11 and it runs Win-11 then fine, as its strange when Microsoft specifically specifies that only an 8th Gen cpu with a TPM 2.0 version board can run Win-11. Anyway this is all I can help you out with, if you have any other question that you need, just ask. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
